We shall see. I have no idea if I will need to get into 5th. If all I have to do is a 3rd to 4th, it will be quick. 8K rpm redline may help.

Spooler 10-16-2020 12:47 PM

If I can figure out how to reach up and bump the boost controller in 4th it will be even better.

Spooler 10-16-2020 01:06 PM

Last time I did a 60 to 130 it was stupid fast. It hurt my dang neck. This was with the old engine.

700whp 2010 ZR1 did around 6.5
FBO GTR on 93 did a 8’s
Stock 2020 GT500 did mid 5’s to low 6’s

And current street car record is a T1 customer GTR with ETS turbo kit (2400+whp) 2.55s 60-130

Downpipes and E85/fuel system in my GTR was 7.0 60-130, some guys are 6.9s like that. Added upgraded stock turbos and its 5.4 now. The car is likely around 3800# and maybe 800whp.

I guess we will see how fast I can go. I have no clue. All I know is it is stupid fast to me which may be slow. LOL

Probably depends a lot on how quick your trans will let you shift it and how high you rev it out. Just adding a few hundred RPM to my rev limiter dropped the 60-130 by a couple tenths alone, keeping it in the higher torque multiplication of a lower gear for longer. I just tossed a clip up on youtube since it was on my phone already https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6kLyXaPweD8

I wish the dragy existed years ago, I use the thing all the time... I would have so many vids. Just like a 1/4 timeslip, the time doesnt really show how hard a car pulls... so even if you dont get the 60-130 you want first time out, you might find that you can drastically reduce it with a little practice. The accel G graph can be handy for dialing in boost by speed curve too, you can see how much room you have to approach your maximum grip.

How did you do that? Filmed it with your phone and it over laid the Dragy data? Are you supposed to start from a stop? Inform the ignorant.

When you are in the recording mode of the Dragy app, touch the little camera icon, and it records the video. It saves the recording and all the stats you achieve while its recording. When done you hit the stop button. Then when you export the video, you select the stats you wish the video to show, and it adds the light tree and stat data into the video in post processing and exporting. Then use the iphone default photo/video gallery app to crop any extra video before/after if you had it recording too long.

As for logging a 60-130 pull... It will of course get logged from a stop, but you will probably get a little bit better time by starting from a roll since your intercooler will have a little less heat soak. If I just want a 60-130 I usually floor it from about 45 or so, so that as you cross the 60mph threshold you want to already be at full power. Some guys want to actually start at 60, to account for turbo lag... that isnt the standard so you will have a hard time finding comparisons of that.

In that one I was using my god given phone mount. I have some universal ones I got from Amazon but I never one with me so I just put my elbow up on the door panel and hold it. Have fun trying that with a manual trans :D

I was wondering the same thing on when you should start. I've seen some guys go full throttle at 40 mph.

phunk 10-16-2020 02:24 PM

and make sure you actually hit 130. Sometimes you can be tempted to have a reflex shut down as soon as you see 130 but if your speedo is off at all that could rob you from getting the recording, which would be a damn shame to lose if you had a perfect pass going. You can wait until the 60-130 pops up on the drag screen (you wont hear the lady say "130" over the engine unless maybe you turn your radio all the way up). If you notice in the video I just linked I went like 154-155 even though the 1/4 was done at like 144, result of having lost a couple good pulls to shutting down early.
