The car did claim a few more victims when it was at MA this time. They took it for a spin to make sure all was good, as I require, and scared the hell out of themselves as usual. LOL

Car is still running buttery smooth. Every time I drive it I always notice it. Never ran this smooth before. It reminds me of my 300zxtt.

Spooler 01-02-2024 05:24 PM

My car is actually hooking dang good in 1st and 2nd at 12psi of boost. My new traction mods are working like a champ.

phunk 01-03-2024 02:51 PM

I love to hear it. We dont see much of your car though! It would be cool to get an interview and some ride alongs with one of the youtube channels or something.

I have heard that one from several people. I have just been enjoying it and when I have fun it is on the spur of the moment. I never have a camera rolling. It's turned cold again. Maybe I can go out and do something when we catch a warm day down here. I don't have anybody local I can torture. LOL I was going to do some spectator drags but that got cancelled due to rain.

Spooler 01-03-2024 04:31 PM

I am camera shy anyways. If I don't know you, you would be lucky to get more than 2 words out of me. LOL

That's more than 2 words

OK, I just say Hi, if anything. LOL

Spooler 01-14-2024 06:54 PM

I am doing boost by gear and I can do a blended boost by rpm at the same time. Interesting. I am going to need that when I start fine tuning it.

Spooler 01-14-2024 09:35 PM

I have been working on Rev Match and Traction control. I should be testing out the Rev Match real soon. I have just about finished setting it up. If the traction control annoys me it is getting turned back off.

Spooler 01-20-2024 03:19 PM

Spooler 01-24-2024 06:51 PM

Rev Match is still not working. I have the final drive ratio entered, correct tire diameter, transmission gear ratios entered, and the ECU can see each gear that I am in. I am missing one thing. The strain gauge so when you touch the shifter gate the ECU knows you are downshifting and to auto blip the throttles. I may also need the clutch switch so it knows the clutch has been depressed. Email sent out for help. So close.

Spooler 01-24-2024 07:35 PM

I have figured out how to turn on the traction control. I will work on tuning it at a later date. That part is ready to go.

Spooler 01-24-2024 07:49 PM

Sometimes it sucks to be first. The learning curve is killer. All good, I am fine with it.

Spooler 01-25-2024 06:58 PM

Sent off the log file and tune file. Sitting back waiting on the man.

blackcherry20 01-25-2024 09:08 PM

Good lord. Big brain stuff.

Spooler 01-29-2024 06:58 PM

Still enjoying the car in the cold weather when I can. Learning new things. This is going to take a little while.

I will be glad when winter is over. I will be happy to put my shorts back on.

Spooler 02-09-2024 06:07 PM

My car is still running extremely well. I am very very happy with it. I have some fine tuning to do on the boost by gear/rpm. I will get there. The cold and rain have slowed me down to a crawl.
I am fine tuning it myself.

Holy thread dredge :rofl2: Seb started my long block build today and had to install the larger washers for the 625's. You can see the size difference in the pic

There is so much rattling around in my head about this car it is crazy. Some things I don't post.

Spooler 02-18-2024 11:59 AM

If anyone wants some pointers on how to drive a fast 2wd turbo car post up. I will try to write it down in words. After 2 people crashed last year and one that is struggling at 13psi of boost I might need to spread some knowledge of years of experience. I am an old dude at 54. I started driving turbo cars back in 1992 and had to learn on my own with nobody to teach me. Have I looped it, put my car in the ditch, etc? Yup, you are supposed to do that with lower powered cars before you step into a faster car. If I make a mistake with my car it won't be good.

It's always nice to have more information

I can't remember if I posted this or not. If you have worn out valve guides on a rebuild, this may be the culprit. We have some janky exhaust valve springs on the 2009 to 2014 engines. They changed them in 2015 to a beehive design from what I remember. I currently run dual valve springs with 1mm larger valves.

If you want to stay low and gain traction due to the massive stock camber gain, do this. It freaking works.

My last build was all about efficiency. The Fast Intentions turbo kit starts to have issues at 800whp. It was only designed for 700whp so it actually does really well. I had to fix some of the issues. All the pipings sizes were increased and the intercooler (CAC) was increased. I don't do the water meth stuff, I just think of it as a band aid. A custom intercooler was made for me by MA. The core is a 28x12x4.5 Bell unit. The freaking thing works like a champ. High IAT's and backpressure issues can and will take out a headgaskets along with other parts. Rod bearings, piston rings, pistons, etc.

Spooler 02-28-2024 10:33 PM

I really don't care too much what others think. I stepped out and followed the data. It told me where to go. I broke my car twice. I was doing what was needed this time to get it to live a long life. Do I care about 60 to 130 times? Yeah, I will get to it in time. I just want to enjoy my car for a while. Do I care about drag racing. Noop, I like watching it but the drag strip is where you go to see parts fly out the back. I am very much so enjoying the Emtron. I am not locked into a tuner, I can see all the data as far as the tune is concerned. Nothing is locked or unknown to me. I have enough sensors to keep me informed on what is going on. The 5in. screen is awesome. I don't need a laptop to see the data I need just running around having fun and I don't need a bunch of gauges that I have no where to install. You can't read them anyway when having fun. Only way to know exactly what is going on is to log it. My ECU logs all the time and I can log it straight to a laptop if I want to. I just have a smile on my face at the moment. That's all that matters.

Spooler 03-03-2024 05:46 PM

Welp, someone else has found out running a coolant pressure sensor with the factory ECU is nothing but trouble. Depending on where you grab the 5 volts to run the sensor, it will throw codes related to it. The Factory ECU doesn't like it at all. You will get all kinds of drivability issues. Misfires, etc.

Where did you find that info? I was looking at doing it but if it's going to cause problems then I won't do it

I had the problem and now someone we both know has it. So, don't do it. The factory ECU doesn't like it. Or, you can do it anyway and have all kind of funky drivability problems while throwing codes. Folks don't listen, not sure why I waste my time anymore.

phunk 03-04-2024 02:02 PM

They are either wiring it wrong or ECUTEK is having an issue with hijacking the input. Wired correctly, ECU itself cant tell one sensor from another.

You need to steal the 5 volts from somewhere. On my car we took it from the rear O2 on the passenger side. It was throwing codes. This car took the 5volts from the map sensor. It started throwing map codes. The 370z ECU is totally different than the GTR ECU. I don't have to worry about that anymore. That ECU is in a box in my garage.

phunk 03-04-2024 04:39 PM

I would still guess the issues were related to wiring, probably how the sensors are being grounded, or just software setup issues.

All the ECU is aware of is the voltage/signal coming down the line. Of course, changing to a totally different sensor and use, your voltage/signal coming down the line can be way out of range, this would cause issues until the software is appropriately reconfigured.
