I see you got a congratulations from Monqueef. Now he has a number that he'll have to beat with shewantsthezee's build.

Yep, but fortunately SOHO is building the motor so the only thing that'll destroy the motor is the tune.

I didn't realize that needed to be stated but yeah. Monqueef gonna blow that ****. Probably just run an extreme open loop to max out everything lol

His ego's going to do whatever it takes to beat that number, you can bet on that

Good luck to them, It is not easy and I squeaked by. I am fine with whatever they do.

Exactly, you met your goals, that's all that matters. SOHO knows what his goal is so I'm sure they're going to build accordingly.

Somebody else is building his turbo kit. Not sure who it is. At these levels, it does make a difference on how you do it. He doesn't have a cast intake manifold either.
He will need to buy one of those for sure. He more than likely will need to work up to it over time. I had to do the same. His last car was 6xxwhp or so. He will get
an eye opener when he steps on the gas the first time. It's no joke.

I didn't know that. Any idea who's building his kit? I think they set aside a cast manifold for his build.

No idea. He did mention it in a video.

I will say this about Nick and George at SOHO. We had several good conversations. They did work very well with me. Some of you can tell I am very active during the process on some things. Other things I just let them run with it and tell me their thoughts and give me some direction. Very happy so far. Very Professional.

I have a stock 3.69 final drive for now.

redondoaveb 09-17-2021 12:55 PM

When do you get the car back?

gbrettin 09-17-2021 02:36 PM

Congratulations dude! I'm really happy for you. Nailing down 1000+ hp is no small deal. It kills me when people say "it's so easy".

I did all those other upgrades so I could plainly see I was out of turbo to go any higher. I am done for now until the day comes that I am not. LOL

Spooler 09-18-2021 10:25 PM

Car is home. Supposed to rain tomorrow so it will be a couple of days before I drive it. I got to mow grass tomorrow too if it doesn't rain. I hope it holds off. I got chit to do.

Spooler 09-18-2021 11:31 PM

On Ignite Red E74 so I got some driving to do at 17psi to get enough burnt out to turn it up and see what the heck I am in for. One afternoon should do it. I can burn out 10 gallons with the quickness. LMAO!!!

Spooler 09-19-2021 01:45 PM

Got everything unloaded and checked the weather map. Scatter showers all around me. 10 min. later it started raining. Then, I noticed the Luv bugs were out. Great, haven't seen them yet. Bring my car home and boom. Here they are. Little bastards.

Spooler 09-19-2021 09:47 PM

LOL, I did get some driving in today on the 17psi setting. Burned half a tank out. It hooks with no problems in 3rd. I could actually add more but I won't. When I get the ethanol content up that will add more power by itself. Been down this road before. Will wait and see what happens after I am on full Ignite Red.

Spooler 09-19-2021 10:32 PM

I did have to adjust my driving style. I am use to rolling into the throttle. Not anymore, I have to go much faster. Taking some getting use too. All good. Not spinning in third though on R888r's.

Backing the boost back down 2 psi to 27 for longevity reasons. The new Motec MAP sensor worked like a champ. The car is running much smoother. Didn't know I was getting that.

Are you running the FI 3" CBE and down pipes?

Yes I am, with the Carbon Fiber mufflers.

I so wish this car had turbo dump pipes out the hood so we could get the full volume.

I'm sure it's a f:icon14:ckin riot and we need some footage asap

True, but dump pipes out of the hood doesn't fit with his desire to retain a 'sleeper' look.

Correct, I hate drawing too much attention. I would rather just sneak around with nobody the wiser. I have only had 1 person who was stupid and keep aggravating me. Needless to say that one was UGLY.... I am sure he had the funny look of WTF was that....

Spooler 09-20-2021 10:39 AM

My dang shifter knob keeps coming loose. Any ideas? I was thinking blue Loctite. One little dab on the bottom of the threads of the shaft. Not in the shifter nob.

Just need a drop. RTV will work too. Make it easier to take off later.

Yup, that is what I was thinking. Just a drop on the bottom of the threads that way the whole thing won't be coated in Loctite.

SOHO is doing mine in a few months. It'll be routed out the TrackSpec hood vent on that side, so no offset circle hole cut in the hood or anything, and you won't see it from the outside, at least not immediately, but you'll definitely hear it.

Spooler 09-20-2021 08:28 PM

I am so goal focused sometimes I forget to set back and enjoy the journey. So this song is for me.... I got to learn to slow down a little and smell the roses.
