GT-R Turbos on the VQ engine

Hello everybody! If you haven't seen my other thread about the GT-R turbos, here is another one

My name's Husam and I started this project almost a year ago. I officially had the engine back in by April and had it running and tuned by July.

It started when I stumbled upon a very cheap set of GT-R turbos with very low miles (20k). Got both turbos and manifolds along with inlets for $700 shipped to my house.

Here's a couple pictures for entertainment purposes.

Had another member who was very interested in the kit and is currently about to install his set of turbos verify that the GT-R intercoolers work without modifying them much.

Got my new clutch and flywheel from Z1.
Love how it feels compared to stock

Downpipes and GT-R bovs done locally for $400

Finally, the car ran and was dyno tuned back in August
(460 whp 375 tq with a boost leak and wastegate pressure).

I will be updating this thread when i have time this weekend hopefully

You had an issue with a motor mount right? Or was it maybe the steering column if I remember correctly ?

Believe it was the rack with some clearance issue.

it was really cool seeing this car in person and being in it when these turbos were installed. I'm looking forward to his next project

I believe the build thread had the forum very interested in a new idea plus seeing it actually executed (let alone in a garage with friends

)!

You definitely need to create a recipe sheet for this for those who would like to follow in your foot steps.
