Yup. I've spent more in supporting mods than the supercharger, and there's still more to go.

Same boat for my turbo build. The kit itself is only about 35-40% of my total spent. |

Boosting a factory NA is a huge undertaking. Things are going to go wrong and you will have to spend extra money above just normal car maintenance.
Life goals before boosting a NA car: 1. Own the car (no note) 2. Max all your retirement every year (401k, IRA, etc.) 3. Make sure you have $10k pad in case the engine goes boom. Once you are set financially for your future you can worry about wasting money having fun in the present. |

I personally think this is a good discussion but unfortunately I think this will be shut down because the answer '"Yes" has been given. Until then.........The concept of financing FI is about as logical as getting a loan for a set of tires. Considering the risk, the compounded interest would put the cost of a kit on par with the total value of the car it was installed on.

I will have to agree with all these responses. Sure i could swipe a supercharger kit on my card and try and pay it off... but then 3 years later more debt is to come on other upgrades, bells and whistles, and of course.. if the engine or sc itself goes out.
But the other side.. i guess if making rent, car loan?, other debts is paid and is going to be paid while paying the SC kit, then its your choice. 10k is a pretty good chunk to pay off if SCs go for that out the door and running. Even at 3 years of 10k finance 0% everything is almost 300$ extra. I guess thats like having an extra car to pay off for some. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yep,
The best mod you can buy for any build is a second car.

From the moment I decided to spend my money buying a GTM product till the day I finally got my Z straightened out is a TEXTBOOK reason that anyone thinking about boosting their Z better have ALL THEIR DUCKS IN A ROW. Debt and comprimise will bend you over and make you wish you bought a Ford Escort or Honda Civic. ANYBODY'S best bet is to buy a car from the manufacturer that is as fast as you need it to be. PERIOD.
