If I were to TT my Z, I would use 0-40 as well. I know it's not a fair comparison, but I used oil with the same viscosity in my 300ZX Turbo and never had any issues. The bottom line is, you want the oil, at it's thinnest, to be able to circulate through the motor when it's cold, and still be thick enough to lubricate the engine internals when it's running hot.
