There was a discussion a few posts back about possible hood accommodations/alterations. While you're working out the details of space, and since it's going to require a hood of some sort, active vents (w/small electric fans) might be a good option to include, and greatly beneficial for those who may use it as a daily driver. Heatsoak from stop-and-go with FI is a problem!

Just my two cents...

If you daily this on the stage 1 and 1.5 kits you will have zero heatsoak issues. We have over built the cooling in this system to support sustained 1000whp pulls over and over. This is going to be an extremely reliable kit. Remember your getting an oversized Heat exchanger and its twin pass. Meaning that the coolant stays in the heat exchanger longer for more cooling efficiency. In addition to that the Intercooler itself is over sized for the 1 and 1.5 kits. as well as the supercharger will not be maxing out its capabilities meaning the whole unit will stay super cool.

I didn't mean cooling issues with respect to the unit itself, or the intercooler -- just the general buildup of heat within the engine compartment that gets into everything when running a FI system...raising overall temps.

An active venting arrangement could pull cool air up and out through the hood, which would help when sitting idling. Small high-speed fans could be mounted in the hood, with electrical wiring running up the back near the hinges. Perhaps this might offer a good compromise slightly narrowing the differences between water and A2A.

Just a thought.

That is the reason we are using a vented hood as a base. The hood bump will be vented in the back to allow airflow out the back in the low pressure areas. You will also have vents either side of the hump to concentrate on relieving heat above the header area. There will be plenty of heat extraction with this hood. We have bullitt designing this hood for us and he has a firm grasp of what is needed. He has a good vision of the design and the capabilities to put together a sick product. Adding any more electrical or mechanical complexity just drives up cost and reduces reliability over a well designed hood.

Are we thinking 500whp with headers, straight exhaust or can we expect to say bolt it up to a stock 16 NISMO and expect 500whp? I just can't stand the sound our cars opened up with aftermarket exhaust.

Our goal is to make 500whp or close to it on stock exhaust.

First time I've heard this - stock exhaust sounds like a vacuum cleaner at high speed

I know it's been mentioned a few times but I didn't find a definitive answer (as you guys also might not have one yet) but what is the plans for the belt layout? What about those of use with an ATI dampener already. And how will this effect upgrading from stages? Additionally, you mentioned use of the 70mm TBs, what about the the 72mm shaftless TBs?

We have designed a cog belt system that is direct drive off of the Crank Pulley assembly. We have an adapter for the Stock crank pulley assembly and we are already working on a unit for the ATI unit as well. We are making two different versions as stated above. The choice is your which one you want to run. We can also supply the ATI dampener for anyone wanting to upgrade as well.

For those wanting to run larger than 70mm we can port the intake tubes to match. It would be a custom order at that point. just send us the Throttle bodies and we will send them back fully ported and setup for your application.

If you prefer the sound of a stock exhaust over aftermarket then you just havent heard the right aftermarket.

Fast Intentions with stock cats and 18" resonators is an aphrodisiac. Zero rasp, zero drone, exotic, zero reason to not love it.

Man cant wait to see the hood Bullitt comes up with, I hope it keeps the smooth rounded modern lines of the Zed intact - Cant say I was a massive fan of the original hood render on the white Nismo, i thought it was a bit boxy and rectangular.

I always liked the e92 m3 v8's subtle powerdome hood. Vorsteiner made a mint with a GTS3 version looks the bizz!

Obviously our dome would be a lot bigger.
