These other guys that have done this should chime in but you swap that map sensor on the back of your manifold to a (3bar?) map sensor then tune on MAP instead of MAF under WOT conditions.

Someone should throw up the link to the sensor please.

Here's a pic of the sensor I'm using with EcuTek...it's a 3 Bar Haltech MAP Sensor...this allows us to tune via Speed Density using MAP instead of MAF....however the post blower/blow thru design on Topz kit will help a lot more with the SD tuning

Here's a link to StillenZ84's link that has it installed....

I've decided and ordered the EcuTek kit from SpecialtyZ and will let Seb do the tuning for me. They even offer a 4 Bar sensor that fits the OEM location as an add on.

I figured that I'm in this far already, lets get this project DONE! I WANT BOOST!!!!!!

This week will be like Christmas, new custom wheels should be in along with the EcuTek kit. I want to smoke some RE-11s!

My A2A install (using the stock canned Stillen tune) starts fine and idles fine but the drivability sucks. The tune is waaaaaaaay to lean with this setup. I finally got back to working on the car and took it for a short drive yesterday after replacing a bad fuel pump. Because the last time the car was driven (low fuel pressure) the ECU had fattened up the AFR to the point that it would hardly idle when I fired it up. After driving it around for about ten minutes it finally settled down at idle. Wide band says 14.4 AFR which is good. Driving the car is another matter though. When accelerating under normal (no boost) driving the car accelerates ok but as soon as I reach a no load cruise speed the AFR goes to about 17.5 which is bad, very bad. The car runs rough and isn't happy.

My plan is to go ahead and order a EcuTek kit along with license and get the car so it will drive so that I can get it to the tuner I want to use or have the Yen Master Seb remote tune it for me. John Visconti sells the EcuTek kit and also does remote tuning but I haven't seen many reviews on his work. Anybody got an opinion on John Visconti?

My Supra buddy is willing to help and he tuned his 800hp Supra himself. OMG, what a beast! His car has 220,000 miles on it and is still running super strong!

Back to what the OP was asking, my experience says that unless you have a AFR wide band gauge and know what the AFR is, you should not drive the car to the tuner unless he is located at the end of your driveway. Burned valves and pistons can result from running a lean mixture and oil wash down and ring damage from too rich of a mixture. Slightly off is no big deal but way off can cause serious damage.

I have many many bad things to say about Visconti. STAY FAR AWAY FROM HIM. I will bash that dude any chance I get until I die. If you have to do the remote tuning route Sebz is the way to go hands down. There is no comparison between him and anyone else. He is the best at what he does and is a really good guy to go along with his amazing tuning.

Just got off the phone with Seb and he's shipping my stuff tomorrow. The engine should be done this week so we are getting closer to getting the car back together.

You will not be disappointed my friend.

It's sad doing knowing its for someone else but I'm still looking forward to seeing what it does. I love the C7 but the Z has been such a long process it going to be hard to see her go.

Anyone have a copy of the install instructions for the a2a kit? My shop is working a quote for my build and needs this to accurately price it.

FYI I'll be back with results from install of the following by next month:

topgunz a2a
vortech impellar upgrade
800cc injectors
MAF upgrade
AAM Competition R-Line Oil Cooling System
TIAL BOV

There are pics on this thread, which should give them a good idea of how the install is going to be. It's pretty straight forth compared to the W-A setup, because you don't have to deal with routing the tubing and installing the pump.

TopgunZ 07-12-2016 03:51 PM

Just replied to your PM. I have PDF's of the install.

Also, 800's will be fine unless you ever plan to run E85 and instead of upgrading the MAF's just use Ecutek and the 4 bar MAP sensor.

No plans to go e85 but thanks for input and suggestion.

I think there is a guy on this forum who had their car at Z Car Garage in Cali looking for the A2A kit. If so you should hit me up. Not sure what Robs plans are with your car but I'd like to help you out.
