Spent most of the day enjoying my Z. Realy all needed to be said is WOW! What a whip she has become, even with this hot Houston weather the car performed perfectly all while keeping temperatures lower than when it was stock.

Been playing between the 7 PSI map and 9 PSI map and can definitely feel the difference between the two. Have yet to play with the 12 PSI Map.:driving:

Lol, 12 psi is going to knock your socks off! The acceleration is phenomenal!

I'm sure you know, but EcuTek allows you to run flex which the impressive #'s you continue to see at lower PSI's is due to the E85. I'm also assuming many of these guys are running 1000cc injectors vs the standard 650/750cc that are included w/ the kit to run straight 91-93.

I'm aware of that but It has no impact on what I'm talking about. The comparisons I'm looking at are guys running 93 oct not E85. Even with straight pump gas the V2.0 and Ecutek are making more power at less boost.

So, random question for you boosted guys: Do you typically do your own routine maintenance and other things for the car, or do you still take it to the dealer? Just wondering if dealers are hesitant at all to work on boosted cars. I know it probably depends on the dealer, but I was just curious.

jwick 09-26-2016 08:28 PM

Post-turbo I do all work on it other than fab work. Dealer is hit or miss. My dealer had no issues when I was N/A modded. Post turbo they told me not to bother to bring it in as they wouldn't touch it. Went to the other local dealer and not only will they work on it, they will cover it under the warranty as long as it isn't drive train related.

That being said. If you walk this path just understand that you probably set fire to your factory warranty.

I can't think of anything I'd want the dealer jacking around under my car. Last time someone else messed around with something they left one of my wastegate vacuum lines just dangling and it almost had a hole rubbed through it. Nobody touches crap unless I'm right there. It's been said that this is the benefit to a self install and sure enough it is a priceless experience.

Not to mention the jack offs at the dealer likely have no idea how to deal with a turbo car in the first place. That might start to change now that the new platform is TT but there's still a huge difference between factory and aftermarket turbo setups.

Somebody get me a pic from the side where the hole for the slave line is in the bell housing with charge pipe in place?

Better yet, Sasha, just send me a kit at no charge so we can get this checked ;)
