Buzzed Gamma again today and they finally got back to me on all of my questions. They tell me that they will be answering tech support emails during the holidays... hopefully they will be responsive! I start the road trip to Houston tomorrow after work! Will be stopping to spend the night with my folks in the panhandle. CANT WAIT TO GET STARTED!

GrooveStyle 12-17-2015 09:07 PM

Woohoo!!

TopgunZ 12-17-2015 09:33 PM

Is gamma ever coming to the table with that roots blower?

Jayhovah 12-18-2015 05:33 PM

I am heartbroken.

2 hours into my trip to Houston yesterday...this.

http://www.the370z.com/members/jayho...217-195013.jpg

Everyone is OK and no other cars were involved. I lost control of the car cruising at 80mph on the interstate, it was raining.

I am an idiot about two things. 1) I didn't know the dangers of using cruise on wet roads. I know now. 2) I check my tires periodically, but right in the center my rears are worn pretty well and I probably should have gotten new tires. There was still tread but not a ton, I didn't notice. Make sure you get your head all the way down there to check.

So, what now? I am still flying to Houston to see family. My brother-in-law wants to go car shopping tomorrow... I am willing to take a look. If they total the car (not sure this will happen, but that rear wheel is not sitting straight any more) I will be elated. If they fix it, I will sell it ASAP either way. I am planning on getting another Z regardless, love the car and couldn't bear to go get a BRZ or something instead.

So, gonna check out a couple Z's tomorrow in houston and if I happen to find a match, then game on with the turbo kit. If not... it will have to wait a year. =( I am so very disappointed in what happened, but feel so lucky things didn't go worse. I have been dreaming of what this week was supposed to be since 2008 when I got a 350z.

I'll keep you guys up to date with what happens. Pour one out for my Pearl White.

damn it bro, that sucks man. Glad no one got hurt. hoping that it works out for the best for you

TopgunZ 12-18-2015 10:42 PM

Totally feel for you man. That is very bad timing. I agree though, semi slicks worn down mostly equals bad things in the rain. I hydroplaned going about 60 and luckily got her back under control. Had there been anyone beside me I would have been in your situation.

Hope it all works out for you.

zguynate 12-18-2015 11:55 PM

Man I'm sorry to hear that. That really sucks. If I had to guess, they are probably going to total that out. Quarter panel damage like that isn't cheap to fix

Felix 808 12-19-2015 12:23 AM

Ouch, glad everyone is ok. If I read the thread correctly, you did not install the kit yet if so, that is a good thing at this point, especially if they total it as that would be a pretty heavy shot to the shorts.

Best of luck to you.

Memphis370Z 12-19-2015 08:29 AM

Sorry this happened, but so glad everyone is OK. Good luck with whatever direction you choose to go. Hopefully, they'll total it and you are able to find another Z quickly. Keep us updated.

I know...I know... there wasn't much rain and everything felt really stable.. right up until it wasn't. =(

Today was a very uplifting day! After scouring a 250mi radius around Houston, there was only two cars I had any interest in... I drove all the way out to BFE Louisiana and found my new ride.. a 2013 GM Base+Sport w/22k miles! Love, love, love it! Got a deal I really couldn't refuse - $21,600. Still under the factory warranty. The only way I could be happier is if I had not wrecked two days ago.

Anyhow.. It was dark by the time we finalized everything.. so I snapped this pic when I stopped for gas. Car already has an Invidia cat-back but looks pretty unmolested otherwise. Drove like a dream all the way back to Houston. Tear down begins tomorrow!

I've got all my fingers and toes crossed! We start early tomorrow morning. We have 8 days to get the kit on and ready for tune. What do you guys think? Not too late to postpone things for a year, but I am optimistic.

Depends how qualified you and your help are and what all you are trying to accomplish along with the kit installed.

I installed my BP kit in five days with two helpers with equal mechanical capability I have so it went pretty well. The Gamma kit is more difficult. We did do all my gauge install and wiring too.

It's possible but it'll be a lot of work.
