His suggestion was simply to touch it after a pull, if it burns your finger it's slipping. I think I will use a temperature gun instead of burning my fingers. He also said to do one pull then spray it with belt dressing ( only as a test not a fix) and see if the psi goes up.

get me a video of your belt, grab it and twist it for me.

It needs to be really tight. like really tight lol

Will do, I will try to do it tomorrow. I will be in meetings all afternoon so I can't get up there today.

Ah, SC porn. I get it.

Go back and read the last two post, read them like you don't know what the subject is.

Did either of you guys with the A2A set up run out of room on the tensioner adjustment screw?

Not me. Evo made his slot longer. I think I have a larger idler pulley so you can do that, or put a bigger jackshaft pulley on.

StillenZ84 01-27-2016 06:35 PM

Much easier to just go bigger idler pulley.

The guys at the shop shot a video for me.

StillenZ84 01-27-2016 07:07 PM

Yeah mine with the 3 " idler still has around 1/2" more it can be tightened and doesn't quite move that much.

JWillis72 01-27-2016 07:18 PM

Lol, I couldn't remember why I ordered this but I bet that's why!

You have a 2.70 right? Had the bracket made with the extended tensioner slot?
if so, all you need to do is put that bad boy on, this is your boost issue.

Your belt is way to loose.

I have the stillen one on but don't have the the two nuts like that and yes it has the extended slot. the one I posted in the picture is a 3" pulley.

Yeah e85 is starting to pop up more and more here too. The manifold seems to be really well built but yeah don't know if you would ever get a straight answer out of Stillen on how much pressure it could actually handle. It seems they stay quiet about most things and word is they are developing an ata setup as we speak. I cant see them changing the manifold too much.

So I spoke to a rep at Stillen and he was able to confirm that they are working on an upgrade to be released in a few months, however it is not a A2A setup. Their reasoning is that several customers have tried this custom setup on their own and it has been proven to be unsuccessful.....

I really wish they did what Tops pointed out and listened to their customers.....I mean Stillen is a big brand name with the money, personnel, and time to do actual R&D on this set up....they could even take notes or consult with the customers that have been successful with this setup. I'm curious to see what type of upgrades they have in store....I'm hoping that it involves relocating the MAF'S post blower closer to the intake so that we can at least get accurate AIT's.

Interesting. Right now I think I am the only one who has gotten this to work out good. So good in fact that I am searching forums for a good used V1 Ti or Si trim head unit. Those can be taken to higher RPM's, you can use COGs safely on them, and they max out at 26psi vs. the 22psi mine is rated for. I wouldn't be doing that if I felt my setup was not adequate. My intake temps are barely above ambient.

Now hearing its still going to be w2a is a bit disappointing. So I'm guessing the only redesign they will do is move those MAF's post blower. Which still kind of sucks. The MAF's will now read ultra hot temps since the intercooler will be after the mafs themselves. So the car will still not be able to understand how to advance or retard timing. Plus that tiny aftercooler sucks ballz. It would be safer to run higher boost, but power wise it is still going to be on the bottom of the barrel. Sure, someone might get on the dyno and rip a near 500whp pull, but that is a dyno queen world, not the real world. Once heat soak takes hold on the street, which will happen quickly, then that thing will lose hp like crazy.

Any chance of your setup getting reproduced? Seems like the interest is there.
