Annoying Shifter Rattle

I doubt he can remove the knob without wrecking the leather...

yah, some lucky folks got the friday 4:58pm production car where they forgot to use loctite. those were apparently easy to remove.

I got pissed off at mine and took a pipe wrench to it. Peeled the pleather right off of the ball and then caught on the plastic and it came off. I pieced it back together but it'll never look new again....Thing was tight!

yah, i just took my oil filter wrench on mine to take it off. after 2 broken strap wrenches, i was like f- it.

I just use a wrench to take it off, didn't really care about if I could damage it after knowing 90% of the case it will get wrecked...

I've heard that which is why I'm reallyyyy not looking forward to removing it. I just love the feel of the stock knob. Reminds me of my 350.

Well I think the problem is the little leather piece on top of the shifter. Does anyone know how to take it off or fix it without destroying it?
