Direct replacements! If you want overlays we can shave the sides down for no extra charge. Overlays are much easier to install. With direct replacements tape needs to be strategically placed in order to hold them properly as they don’t bolt in or have any clip hardware. Clip hardware can be glued on the back though. We made a one of a kind fiberglass B pillars custom for a customer last year and he epoxied auto zone clips to the back of his and then just popped them in. I haven’t spoken to him in like eight months so I suppose his idea worked ha.

^^^ I am doing the same thing I am just trying to get the right lil clips so they dont fall out. That method looks as it is the correct way to do this and the best solution 3M is having a hard time standing up to high velocities (100+mph). Since I track my car and I get to those on a normal basis gluing the pieces onto the replacements is the key to making them fit correctly and being assured they dont come off.

Hey bullitt, once you decide how you put yours on, let me know. I'd like to let Altered Atmosphere put mine on but decided to hold off today until I was 100% sure how to do it properly.

If a local can come buy who wants to order one then I'll do an install and post it up. What we are doing now on the new sets is brushing a super thin coat of epoxy on the back which will give the tape a better grip surface. The surface after vacuum infusing (with the material we put over the carbon fiber) gives the parts a perforated surface giving the tape half the amount to hold than if it were painted or brushed with a thin coat of epoxy.

Quality. Our B pillar price is $175.00 plus free shipping.

We start off by adding two layers of clear UV resistant gel coat on the mold and that takes about 2 hrs including drying time.

We then apply three layers of carbon fiber and one layer of fiberglass (we make them a tad thicker now). We infuse the resin.

Once that cures we then demold them, trim them, sand the surface, and apply a UV resistant coat of DuPont clear coat.

We let that dry over night, wet sand in the morning, apply another coat of clear and let that dry.

The next day we wet sand, buff, and polish.

I say it several times a week and I'll never get tired of saying it. With most things in life ESPECIALLY carbon fiber, you get what you pay for. If its cheap its no good, if its good its not cheap. Many carbon fiber and fiberglass workers will say the same thing.

We have to charge so much because of the quality of carbon fiber and resin we use. The consumer has to take into consideration the price of materials, other shop expenses, pay for the employees, the cost of the equipment for vacuum bagging and oven curing, the cost of clear (over 250 a gal of DuPont clear), and there’s just so much more that comes into play.

I never bash other competitors and businesses but when you see carbon fiber parts so cheap (and I'm saying this in general, not pointing fingers) you have to really think where can they be cutting costs? Materials, time, labor, expertise?

Most people know this.
