Default Alarm beep stopped working?!

Hey guys, I just installed the illuminated kickplate harness and now my alarm beep stopped working?? Any ideas what I did to break it? Meaning when I press lock/unlock on the keyfob there is no longer a beep sound.

I was thinking maybe when putting back on the LH side-panel I hit one of the fuses a little too rough and broke it. Is it possible that I disconnected something from the RH side BCM?

I followed the OEM instructions for the harness so I doubt I did any serious damage.

Thanks for any help or insight you may be able to provide.. I'm new to this type of thing!

Try this from page 3-16 of the Owners Manual

Switching procedure:

To switch the hazard indicator and horn (chime) operation, push the LOCK *1 and UN- LOCK *2 buttons on the Intelligent Key simultaneously for more than 2 seconds.
. When the hazard indicator mode is set, the hazard indicator flashes 3 times.
. When the hazard indicator and horn mode is set, the hazard indicator flashes once and the horn chirps once.

That should fix it for the key. But one time my beep from clicking the little button on the door stopped. For that I had to take it to the dealer, no way to reverse that.

Have you all unrolled the windows with the remote?

I was messing with the remote and got the windows to roll a little or all the way down.

Well I switched my to only hazard mode a couple weeks ago and now I'm trying to change it back without any luck. I'm following the instructions in the manual and its not working. Is there a trick to getting it back to harzard and horn mode, or is there something broken?

Yeah it does, I think you just press unlock twice, quickly, but on the second press hold unlock down for about 5 seconds and the windows will roll down. You can let off the unlock button to stop them at any point in the process, just can't go back up.

yes if you hold down the unlock button the windows roll down . you can also take the key out of the fob and put in the door and roll them down or turn the other way and they will go back up . sadly you cant roll the windows up with the remote

DEpointfive0,

I got it to work. I don't know what I did differently this morning versus a couple hours ago. I am starting to think my car is alive based on this and another issue that I'm having with the car (I'm not ready to share what the other issue is).
