Summit Racing has both the powered and non-powered. They have the power for like 135 I think, but if you google it or actually search for it, you could find a better deal. It is the Altec Show n Go...

Yep got mine from summit racing for 132 i think. Best deal I could find except bidding on ebay. Most places want 159. It should be here tuesday so I will try to get installed and pics/diy up asap.

Not a bad idea for those states that require the front plate. We await the DIY ENT-Z. Let us know how it goes.

Yeah Texas is one of those states, so once I do get my Z this is one mod I do want to get. Definitely let us know how it works out for you.

Anyways, I wish someone would invent adjustable window tints. Soon as I get pulled over, up goes my license plate along with lowering my tint shade.
Adjustable tint is actually a possibility...it would involve using a charged gas between two plates of glass; color would change according to voltage applied. The problem would be getting two plates of glass to fit in the window. Would probably require custom made glass.

Glad you fellas like the idea.

Nope - liquid crystal. (eg LCD)

You guys are crazy if you think the NTSB is ever going to allow something like that in a window that could shatter on impact. Generally windows that can darken contain tiny filaments that adjust their alignment via electric current to block out light to varying degrees. I don't think it acts like window tint, however - meaning you wouldn't be able to see out anymore than see in.

In regards to the OT, this would be a cool mod if I finally get fed up with being pulled over for only having my front plate on my dash. 4 months so far and no problems though - it even gave one officer an excuse to hand me a ticket for that instead of speeding. (loss of my license speeding, no less!!)
