Just wondering how hard it is to wire the fog light to the brake light cause i only want it to light up when i am braking.

i read about the other functions of the fog light but personally i think its too flashy.

i would tap the signal from the third brake light.... i wouldnt feel to comfortable tapping the taillights since they are LEDS wouldnt want anything to go wrong and you end up burning up the leds in the taillights after that just ground the black wire on the fog and bing bam boom itll light up each time you tap the brake

sounds like a great idea, i think it requires more work since all the wires for the 3rd break light is behind the rear hatch panel (i think)

have to take it apart and check it out tomorrow

I've got mine tapped to the driver's side tail light using the Z1 harness and it was pretty easy, I haven't had any issues either. It only takes 20 or 30 minutes to remove the interior panels from the hatch to get to the tail light wiring.

How long has it been since you installed the fog light? I was thinking the same until simota pointed out the flaws of that idea

They'll be able to run both... the voltage doesn't change when you tap off it and the amperage should be sufficient.

Only issue IMO is that your fog will look like a trailer hitch... I was going to do the same thing but decided against it.

Then in you opinion, what is the real purpose of a rear fog light?

Some guys on here have hooked up a dual element brake light bulb/socket from a Honda Pilot (7443 socket). Got a rear Nissan fog light as a gift this Christmas and will end up doing this mod to it. Subtle red then bright when brakes are applied.

How would you wire it though?
