I could be wrong, but I could have sword I remember a thread where the discussion was about how the real hood came with rain guards.

The slits in the TS are like, the opposite direction of rain that would go into into it. It's not like a ram air style that's meant to take in the outside air and cram it into the engine or engine bay.
