I used that drum stick only as a reference. It was the only thing I saw at the moment. I would probably used 1/2 of my jack pipe or a beefier piece of wood.

Raj, you ever get it off? Did the belt work? I'm finding it real hard to understand why it's not coming off with all that space to work with. You can just about use any tool!

I haven't tried the belt trick yet, I'm going to give it a shot tomorrow. Been busy at college lol

Well. It took me about 15 minutes of set up (taping the knob and getting the vise grips just right on the shaft), another 10 minutes to break a smaller strap wrench (should have gone with the bigger one right away) and another 5 minutes to break the lock tight, take the knob off and put a new one on. A total of 30 minutes. Not bad, I expected a lot worse.

No damage to the stock knob.

may all terrible things happen to your new knob!!

GJ, took me 30 min to go back to the store just to get a replacement strap wrench that broke also

store clerk was like wtf mang...

i bought mine from sears so they have a free-replacement program for hand tools that break. so i have a new one in my tool box.

I got mine from Canadian tire. Mastercraft tools have a life time warranty. I wil test it tomorrow.
