The entire assembly needs to be taken apart to get to the clips and pop it out. When putting this gauge face back on, it (in theory) should not require disassembly. Simply pop it back on.
I didn't have any paint thinner around and tried using a dremel, but it ended up eating into the plastic. Once the paint was removed, it was completely clear underneath so paint thinner should've been the way to go. So... I sorta messed up in the process. Right now I'm using epoxy as a filler before filing it down flat and smooth as an attempt to fix it.
