Default LED Parking Light swap on 2011MY

Hey Guys,

So I saw the DIY the "trooper" completed to swap out the candescent bulb for the V-LED's for the parking light

So I got through the first few steps and then hit a snag.

The 2011MY doesn't have the plastic pop rivets at the bottom of the wheel liner.
The wheel liner is very rivet and I cannot peel it back to expose the backside of the headlight asm. The fascia wraps around to hold the edge of the wheel liner.

Anybody completed the swap out on a 2011 that could share some insight?

I will add some photos shortly.

Ok, here is what I did...

The fender liner is actually 2 pieces, locate at the top of the inner wheel well where the
fender liner is separated.

Take out the 2 clips near the split of the two.

I worked my way down the fender liner toward the front of car, taking out clips and pulling the fender liner from the bumper.

Did you take the wheel off or just turn it inward as far as it would go?

I turned the wheel for more clearance..

Example; If I was working on the drivers side, I would turn the wheel all the way to the right. Then opposite for the passenger side.

I'll give it a try tonight and take some photos for the DIY write-up.
Thanks for the help.

All Done. I took your advice and removed the top clips to pull the liner down from the top. It is very obstructive with the wheel in place, so I ended up taking the wheels off. The other side was a sinch, 15 minutes swap even with taking the wheel off & on.

Tip: Turn housing counter-clockwise to remove

I love the look. Here is a picture after the install.

Hey man no prob.. I have changed my headlights and parking lights so I'm pretty good at it.. I personally didn't have to take the wheel off, I have the
skinny arm syndrome... LOL...

Looking good.. !!
