Default swap hazard light switch

Hi,

So I got my NAV installed it has a voice activation button...

I want to swap the hazard light SW to the right side where the dummy switch is ... ( the location of the sports switch in the sports model) and move that switch to the left so its easily reachable....

So after that I want to put the voice activation switch for the NAV under it...and still use the factory silver round switch for it.

I was thinking somehow to put a spring between the round silver factory switch and the NAV's voice activation switch with the Voice Activation switch under the silver round switch.

Any suggestions for doing this... has anyone done this?

Thanks,
jay

Why not just splice the wires into the OEM switch? It should be two wires on both and just hook the switch(OEM) to the wires for the HU? should work in theory, you might have to buy the other switch not sure if the dummy one is a switch or not.

feel free to correct me if i am wrong.

i like the idea of getting a replacement (spare ) hazard light switch and using that but not too sure about splicing the wires on the PTT button has anyone tried something like this?

Thanks,

yah, you would need a momentary switch. hazard switch is latching type so you will need to get the Syncro rev-match on/off switch i thinks.

How about replacing the blank between the heated seat switches? I know someone posted up a switch which is an excellent match if only I can find it....

Edit: this is what I was thinking of - any use?

yah, i use those on my center console. they fit very well. make sure it's a non-latching momentary switch.

Thanks, thats a very good idea! my reason to use the hazard / sports mode switch was laziness........ because for wiring that switch I wouldnt have to remove the entire console...

but it seems like the switch can be wired w/out removing the entire console...

lets see how it goes.....

I have swapped the location of my hazard light with the dummy switch currently empty...

does anyone know for sure if the PTT button on the 9960 can be used with the SRM switch for the Z?

If anyone has other ideas for a switch that will work with the PTT button for the kenwood 9960 please let me know.. I will need a switch that will go in place of the dummy switch that i had...

Thanks,
