So you have this wired to a switch to simply turn on when you like, I assume. I am thinking it wouldn't be too hard to wire into the reverse

So you have this wired to a switch to simply turn on when you like, I assume. I am thinking it wouldn't be too hard to wire into the reverse lights also to warn drivers when backing up.
