Sounds to me like the most universal and safe usage of this would be to have it do the blink-on-reverse thing as well as being able to toggle it on

Sounds to me like the most universal and safe usage of this would be to have it do the blink-on-reverse thing as well as being able to toggle it on solid for fog. With a 3-way (well, 2-way + off) switch like the heated seat switch, the center (off) position could disable the light, the rearward position would have it only light up in reverse, and blink when doing so, and the forward position would turn it on solid full-time for fog conditions (and still blink if reverse is engaged).
