It's either that or a fancy voltage regulator. The Japanese are really into that line of electronic tuning. Sometimes it makes power, sometimes it doesn't.

Call me crazy, but the first pic is way different than anything else i've seen and I kind of like it. That said, does anyone know what all those hoses are going into the overflow tank? Are they even functional?

that is a ARC coolant/oil catch can.... it is functional.... you never see them around because ARC discontinued that tank after they went bankrupt... they re- opened again but they only sell a tank that is compatable with other vq engines.... makes sense because that tank was z34 specific so i guess they werent really making a ton of money because it was specific, rather than the tank now is compatible with the 350z, 370z, g35, g37.... less labor more money i guess

If you look closely you will see its not just the purple box, its a silver box as well in every pic. Just following the wires but looks like some sort of ECU management system. If someone could narrow it down id appreciate it!

The silver box boost the coil input voltage from 12v to 16v. The purple is a regulator to eliminate voltage sag to the coil.

Late to the party.. but here's my contribution

Password:JDM CF compartment covers and cooling plate, Seibon CF Engine Cover, Black Chrome OEM Strut bar by VIP Status..

Nothing like spending 1K on your engine bay to achieve 0HP.. haha but it looks pretty..
