Oddly enough, when these Search Nazis aren't policing newbies, they tend to spend the majority of their time posting and commenting on the off-topic sections of their forum. Personally, I like to answer newbie questions when I can or at least direct them to the information, rather than just posting a "try the search button" or "RTFM" response. It's part of being a welcoming community.
