Homelink Rear view Mirror

Ouch, that is quite a bit higher than I expected the price to be. I'm going to have to rethink this.

I am sure he would be available to modify your existing mirror. I can certainly ask and pass on any pricing.

This is why I went with the non-compass model. In comparison to all other web pricing, this is by far much better, but still not a cheap mod. It was absolutely not worth 100$ for a compass that I never use, anyway. But, I can tell you this - the mirror that I purchased, the 453, is the same one that was in my GT-R and I absolutely love it. Would not have any other type. Very nice upgrade to the 313 of old.

I'm not sure what you are asking, but I believe you are asking if it is a harder install? If so, the answer is no. It is the standard three-wire connection. But, the connector that clips into the actual mirror is different than the standard Gentex connector, so a custom harness has to be made. This is insignificant to the buyer as they will install in the same manner.

I think the version without the compass is actually a GENK40A.

Pricing just seems to be par with eBay/Amazon/etc. Kind of ruins the concept of the Group Buy.

You are correct. Edited to reflect proper part number.

I can't help the pricing, guys. I am not selling them nor setting the price. It is a significant price from drop (10%) from his ebay sales price and certainly well below retail. But, if you aren't happy, then there is certainly no obligation to buy.

I haven't done any price comparisons, but I think that 25$ off the price of the mirror with a free harness and cover plus free shipping is a pretty good savings. That's roughly 60$ saved on the mirrors with the compasses and 45$ saved on those without.

To be 100% satisfied with the product received and it being brand new, it was a no-brainer to me to spend a little extra.

I agree, something is better than nothing for sure. Getting a new product instead of one pulled from a wrecked vehicle is great too.

Sidenote: Do the verts have map lights on their mirrors?

OK I have the Gentex 453 Series Mirror that I got used. I mounted it today and it seems it needs a single screw to secure. I don't have one. What kind can I use? Also there is no hole on the windshield mount for a screw! Does the screw just tighten to the metal wedge to hold it in place?

Here is what it looks like in the back:

Yes it's just a set screw, should attach to the bracket mounted to the windshield.

Just bring it into a hardware store and match up the threads to some of the bolts they sell. Some even have stations to help you find your bolt size and thread coarseness. I'm sure it's small and metric so it may be a little tricky to find.

Hell, try a dealership, worth a shot

Amazing. I called and Nissan wants me to buy a whole new Mirror to get the screw. I called Gentex and their distributor is mailing me out a screw for free...

Yessir. This is the mirror without the compass and the one I purchased. The 150$ includes the harness and the wire cover. When ordering, just include in the comments that this was from the "jeremy" group buy. I'm hoping he will honor the pricing even though no one has purchased.

im sure you all know already, but if not, Ace Hardware has a lot of screws including metrics and they sell loosely (including the fine thread pitch 1.25's) .
