Default Kick Plate Bulb Change?

I did a search and can't find the answer. Can the bulb be changed in the 370 kick plate? I see where a guy is changing the bulb color but I think he is soldering in a circuit board. Do I have to buy the whole kick plate?

Nope, they have to be desoldered from the circuit board. That's probably the easiest part. The most difficult part appears to be the disassembly of the kick plate to access the circuit board

How is changing a bulb different from changing colour? Steps are identical.

I wasn't sure if you could buy an OEM board with a bulb attached and simply plug it in. Now I'm sure. Thanks

The are LEDs soldered to a circuit board. You can change out the LED but it's not like unscrewing a light bulb. This is the same for the kick plates as well as the instrument cluster and triple gauge cluster.

That shouldn't have been a difficult search. Perhaps you need to rethink your search strategy. When you use your favorite search engine, one trick is to add the phrase site:the370z.com to specify only results from this domain

Thanks! Can you provide me with one link on this forum that says you have to buy the kick plate as a whole unit or buy the bulb from a dealer to be soldered in? I would like to see what I missed. My Google is not so smart or maybe I'm not and my phrasing is bad.

From the link I provided earlier if you want to buy just the bulb

I've purchased a bunch of the LEDs. Never had the skills to do the actual work. The LEDs are too small and/or my fingers are too fat

Here's some of the stash that I bought. From left to right: PLCC-2 1210/3528 LED Green/Red/White and 0805 LED Blue/Green/Red/White/Yellow

I feel the same way. I'll probably just buy the kick plate from the dealer. I'm first going to take it off and see if the connection is loose. The led is blinking so maybe it's on its way out. Thanks for your offer. I have Allstate bumper to bumper coverage but it doesn't cover bulbs, but maybe because this is a fixed bulb it will . I'm going to check on this tomorrow.

If you need an extra kick plate, I have some. I've got a set of brand new ones as well as a single driver side one that's got some dents. Rather than PDR the damaged one it might be easier for you to just swap the circuit boards. Let me know if you're interested and I'll throw out a number for you.
