FWIW my car is a garage kept non-daily and when parked in the sun i use a purpose built windshield shade. When I purchased it in 2017 there was a very slight crack near the passenger airbag. I began using 303 UV treatment due to all raving about its benefits. I'm convinced that product, not the sun caused the tremendous amount of cracking I have now. 
It would be interesting to start a poll of those without cracking and what protection product they use.
