I only wanted it to light up when I braked, so I had someone press the brake and found the hot wire. The green wire, when hot, makes the light blink and is for hazards, turn signals, actually whatever you want it to do... You don't have to go exactly by the how to sheet that is sent with the light. I didn't even use the green wire.
