Question No clutch helper spring

I've read a little here and there about the clutch helper spring replacement and thought it sounded like a good idea. Last week a friend completely removed his, which I played with a bit. I liked it and thought I'd give it a go.

So now I'm sitting here with a clutch pedal that's several inches lower than stock and a little harder feel. I flippin' love it. My only concern is now there's a side-to-side wiggle in the pedal.

This is my dilemma: I'd like to have a solid feeling clutch that sits as low as mine does now without the helper spring.

Has anyone here toyed around with that? Is there a helper spring replacement out there that will give me that feel and height? Or am I pretty much going to have to go with the full clutch pedal replacement?

Thanks in advance, homies!

I completely removed mine and the clutch pedal height didn't change at all. I've ran mine this way for over fours years with no issue. There's a little wiggle in the pedal but nothing to worry about.

In addition there is a guy on here that sells a weaker helper spring for like $20shipped. It would take the wiggle out and give you almost the hard feel you have now.

Thanks for the reassurance, I'll look into this fella who sells the springs.

I ordered the spring from him, should arrive today, I'll put it in this week/end and report back.

You can leave the smaller of 2 springs in too.

Have you still not had any problems? I took mine out a year ago and I love the feel. It is way smoother for sure. I also have that little wiggle and I am now starting to wonder if I should get a replacement helper spring. Just worried that not having a spring there will cause problems in the future.

I have the weaker spring installed since I bought the car. No issues.

I removed mine about two years ago and I don't have any problems at all.

No issues. Been removed for five years. 48k on the odometer.
