Yea it isn't the greatest in the world, but if you have experience with a manual transmission, you shouldn't have any problems...  Anyways, if OP is shifting with SRM off, and the car tends to jerk, then the RPMS are dropping to low in between shifts... so I would say a little more gas as you're letting off the clutch. Just practice, you'll get better.
