Im currently debating what direction Im going to go in for my next project. I currently have a bent rod in cyl#3. Im thinking of either throwing in used motor or going with a built stage 2 IPP longblock Stage 2 VQ37 Long Block Engine - Nissan 370z/Infiniti G37 - Import Parts Pro
With full bolt-ons how much power you guys reckon it would throw down? Is it worth it? Way I look at it is I have to buy a motor one way or another and its not much more than a used to buy IPP's built longblock. IPP says depending on the mods the stage 1 should gain 20-40hp over stock. Not sure about the stage 2 which has the JWT cams. Any input you guys have would be nice.

Depending if you stay with stock compression or bump the compression will make a huge difference. Also depends on supporting mods to work with the upgraded cam. Only one person has done a stage 2 cam and made decent power, but he had a dry sump to support the extra revs safely and some custom 1 off parts. If you were to run straight e 85 and bump the C.R. To 12.5 or 13.1 you would make some awesome numbers and probably break the 400whp barrier. But that's my 2 worthless cents.

Not trying to chase 400whp with this build like you, Elmo. Since I have to dump a new motor in the car Im wondering how that stage 2 would perform kinda as is. Id be running stillen cai, z1 headers, test pipes to stillen cbe. 11.5:1 compression. How Im looking at it, it kinda seems worth spending an extra 2-3k over what it would cost me to buy a used motor and about 1.5k less than a new one from Nissan. Dry sump, e85, not trying to get all that involed. If I could squeeze 350-360whp outta that I think I could be satisfied. Although I wish I didnt have to replace her motor otherwise these funds could be going towards a BP turbo kit...

ThAt shouldn't be a problem. Maybe look at a set of long tubes for that aggressive cam
