Default transmission grinding?

its only happened a few times i have about 1300 miles on the car i will shift into gear let out the clutch and ill hear almost like a grinding sound coming from the tranny until i shift out of gear.. car still feels smooth dont feel any grinding in the shifter its only happened shifting into 2nd and 3rd and it happens rarely im just having problems diagnosing what it is.. has this happend to anyone before? the sound will occur while moving while im in gear already.. it does not happen while shifting into gear. what could be wrong? this isnt my first manual transmission so i shouldnt be having any issues lol. or is this normal and the tranny is just loud.. its very hard to explain its like a very fast but quiet grinding sound not a loud grinding/crunch sound.

PS: im gonna be changing my tranny fluid to redline MT90 within the next couple weeks, maybe that fixes the issue who knows.. any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The transmission in these cars is noisy. Could just be some gear whine that you're not used to hearing?

I dont think its gear whine as it will go away as soon as i switch gears. it sounds like almost like my 07 civic si did when it had the 3rd gear issues. used to put it into gear used to let out the clutch and it would pop out of gear and grind.. maybe the gear isnt fully engaging? who knows its not a very harsh grind almost as if whatever is grinding has fine teeth you know? changing the MT fluid on my 07 civic si to amsoil fixed the issue entirely.. Im just trying to see if anyone else had this issue.. chances are if i bring it to the dealer they wont be able to replicate as its only happend a few times within the past 1000 miles. could it be fine and maybe its a fluke once in a while? dont know.

Pesonally I'd re-think that. You may potentially have a serious issue with the trans. Switching fluids could give the dealer an excuse to deny a possible Warranty fix...
I'd put some more miles on it before I'd do anything..

they will deny the warranty claim even if it meets nissan requirements? i have no issues shifting into gears it only happens after im in the gear and let the clutch out and it rarely happens not something that can be reproduced.

+1 I agree, wait, take it in first so you can document it.

mine is particularly loud and makes a "Clank" sound when shifting at low speeds, and a grinding sound when i go into 1st at a low RPM, I just think its a loud transmission really.

1st gear is really noisy. There is really no reason to downshift into 1st when you are still moving.

Sounds like a dealer visit maybe required for the peace of mind that's there's nothing major going on in the transmission.

maybe im just an ******* and was letting the clutch out too soon before the gear was fully engaged.. ive been driving stick for several years and never really had that issue but i guess theres a first time for everything.. going to the dealer at this point i think is fruitless they will just tell me they couldnt replicate the issue and send me on my way. its literally happend maybe 3 times in the last 1000 miles.. just drove to work and the tranny shifted real smooth no problems what so ever.. i dont know. just wanted to see if anyone else had this issue.

Could be the case. I know it took me a little while to get used to driving this one. Clutch action is not what I'm used to.

WIth that description I'd say that's a blown synchronizer...it'll have to be repaired...

I'd be careful with it, as they could potentially claim it as abuse/operator error and deny the claim.

It's just a loud and clunky transmission. The clutch throw out bearing rattles away while the tranny is in neutral, 2nd gear whirrs noticably at low speeds and is notchy before the oil warms up fully. It's just mechanical side effects of a crude manual transmission. Mines been this way since day one.

I changed my shifting habits, and my gearbox has been doing very good. I used to have a habit (still do once in awhile) of shifting too early while pressing down the clutch pedal, and clunkiness and gear grinding tends to be problematic. I also press down the clutch pedal a bit quicker in between shifts, and engagements are much more smooth.
