I'd post a video but no street racing vids lol. He was pulling on me HARD at the very end but never actually caught me before the finish. Highway and he would've mutilated me by 4 or 5 car lengths but the power of shorter gears does amazing things. Especially when the 7at with 3.3 gears is faster then the 6mt 3.69 gears from factory, the 4.36 gears would be a destroyer in the 7at. I would roughly assume 20% increase In acceleration.

seeeeee no one told me he was running 4.36 gears lol

i wonder how hard it would be to swap in a set of gears for drag days and put the stockers in for when i DD it. never changed a set before.

Ridiculously hard and painful. It takes a pro shop roughly 8 hours to shim and correct everything to make it perfect. Hell, my shop can't even get mine right. 4th time its been back to the shop in 2 months but I'm in Hawaii where good shops are limited. No downtime on my car as I was smart and bought a full donor differential from a totaled 350z. That $100 has saved me 2 months of downtime on my car. I've got my OEM non-VLSD diff and then I've got the one being built with 4.08 gears and Quaife LSD. Takes me about an hour and a half to swap them out now with a lift which would be a good option for you.

soooo go buy a rear diff setup out of a wrecked 307Z and put new gears in there. then just swap diffs for race days. sounds like it's do-able and i have access to many junk yards with higher end cars :yum:

also sidenote: god i miss Hawaii lol that was a good trip to take. stayed with my friend who is in the air force and stationed down there.

Any 350z, G35, g37, and 370z diff will work. Mines from a 5at 350z. Bolts in with no modifications on my 6mt. Downside is when you drive on them, you're never gonna wanna swap em out lol. Felt amazing. My car just isn't the same without them!! lol

EDIT! MUST READ!!
BUTTTTTT!!! if you don't wanna buy an aftermarket LSD, you must find a differential from the 6mt's to bolt to the 4.08 or 4.36 gears. The housing itself does not matter as long as its from 1 that i listed but you need the actual differential itself to be for a 6mt. IF you do buy an aftermarket LSD, buy it for the 6MT because the ring gears on the AT's are bigger so the new gears would not fit on the auto differential. Everything goes into the housing the same just requires shimming.

I've seen the video, it was sexxxy

And he was spinning both 1st and 2nd, maybe even 3rd

This is the first time I've heard about these 4.36 gears.. Any links or additional info ?

NickTurnon 07-09-2013 04:58 PM

I had a friend who installed the 4.08 gears FPenvy and spun tires into third just from that and a few other bolt ons. That means probably 10whp or so difference... They sold the gears for $450.. thats a good deal for you to consider

That and my drag radial set up I planned out for $1200 ;) 18x12 wheels and some meaty drag radials lol

What is this "Z1 intake manifold mod" you speak of? Awesome numbers btw!

Its something they do when they do the tune, but its proprietary, so you can only get it done there.

As for 1/4 mile times, that's too boring for me. Sit around all night to get a couple runs that only last a few seconds, no thanks. Almost as boring as standing around all day at auto cross for a few 1 minute runs.

Wasn't this thread for people to post their na numbers, and mods? or did I miss something?

PLEASE KEEP IT ON TOPIC.

I would appreciate that, And so would the rest of the Forum.

Carry on :ugh2:
