I do think another possible difference is that I didn't baby mine during break in and its been 90% hard track miles since day 1.

Other possible factors are maybe my quaife lsd has less drag than a stock one, but I have no idea on that one, and also maybe because my race wheels and tires at the time were a good bit lighter and smaller diameter than street wheels and tires could also help. I think when I actually had a set of street tires, the car dyno'd 6hp lower

Hmmm all interesting. Just trying to see where there is a 20hp jump is all. Curiosity for future mods is why I'm questioning it. Hope none is taken in the wrong way.

LSD may have some factor in it but I'm with you in being unsure on that as well.

I'm just running the stock sport wheels and pilot super sport tires obviously not as light. Not sure if that would make any significant difference or not.

No biggie, because personally, I don't really care. All I care about is being faster than the much more expensive cars at the track :)

327 whp / 255 tq in 4th gear (local tuner uses 4th to avoid additional stress during tuning) on an AWD Mustang Dyno.

Anyone know how 4th gear pulls compare to 5th gear pulls?

depend on the dyno .

on a dynapack I get like 34x whp on the 4th gear but 324 on the 5th
on a dynojet I was getting a lower reading with the 4th vs the 5th gear.

So Mike, when you went from 311 to 342 was it only the header change or did that include the mystery intake mani as well?

I'm not entirely sure, but I think it was at the same time. I sometimes keep my car at Z1 over the winter when I'm not doing track events though, so I'm not sure exactly, but I think it was with the headers.

Georgia has a winter? :roflpuke2: Come to Ohio and experience a real winter. :ugh2:

Cool thanks! Now I'm curious about this mani I don't think I've read about it before...

I think I like the 1/4 mile thread better :\ dyno inconsistencies make this thread very misleading

If anything, people should be posting their before and after, the differences between a baseline to mods+tune or whatever you may have, however I know a lot of you guys don't have baselines so that rules that one out

I was thinking the same thing Khoi!

I agree that quarter mile times give me a better idea of how the car will perform on the streets, however knowing overall power of the car is important too. & Its a brag thread

To follow up with what you said FPEnvy, I lost 23% when I baseline dyno'd my car. That 6MT reads at least 10whp higher from what I have seen.

I can play that game too
Too many don't document improvements. I know in some locations, dyno's are retarded expensive. In Chicago I saw them for $200+ for 3 pulls. But in Vegas, I can get that for $60 and $40 when specials are going.
Blue: baseline
Red: PPE headers, MD Y pipe & HFC, Tanabe Exhaust
Green: Red + NST pulleys and AEM CAI with no tune.
Busted O2 issue on the green and red dyno plots as well. These are in DIN, SAE numbers were about 6-7whp less on all 3 pulls.

Hahah I have no idea. But, we can always settle this in a straight line. 7AT wins everytime :happydance:

well done with the documentation

but i know what you mean with the dyno prices. places around here are hit or miss. some places are $150 a hour (3 pulls) and the cheaper places for like $100 are booked up for months at a time.

also i didnt want to do what you did and probably have to pay the shop i dyno'd at to install the parts (or uninstall/reinstall). i enjoyed doing all my own mods and also saving on high labor costs.

i just need to befriend a local shop with a dyno and get free pulls lol
