Question Help with SES/Engine Code

So I've been having a headache trying to pin this SES code down. I've been getting the dreaded P300 engine misfire code after doing all the checks with vacuum leaks and resetting ecu, to taking off my custom midpipe, to putting back my CBE. Its driving me crazy

Things finally settled down and I think its my 02 sensors cause I replaced one from oxygensensors online the downstream one on the driver's side broke when they installed my LTH.

Any how the code that I am throwing now is:

P0153.02 AND P0133.02 - Both bank 1 and bank 2

My question is what side is that (Driver side/Passenger side) and it says its upstream when I look it up.

It says that the code is a slow response etc etc. Please let me know what 02 sensor i need to buy along with what side should it belong to.

Thanks for the help

JC

Sounds like either faulty sensors or faulty wiring.

Both banks means both primary O2's.

Could be related to vac/exhaust leaks anywhere before or just after the O2's as well.

Thanks Jordo, so does this mean both upstream meaning passenger and drivers side 02?

Primary meaning the 02 sensor that belongs to the manifold correct?

Bank 1 = Right side (US passenger)
Bank 2 = Left side (US driver)

The FSMs have have a lot of diagnostic info, including how to diagnose and fix O2 sensor problems. Well worth downloading and reading. You can find the FSMs on this site.

Correct.

Those are sensor 1 codes, which is the O2 sensor in the header; the 2nd O2 is after the cat.

Both banks mean both the L and R sensors aren't working right.

Did you just change one or both? If you just had headers installed, I'm guessing both are damaged or the wires weren't extended properly, so they aren't getting enough voltage.

Wink

If they used an air impact gun on the bolts on the exhausst. Chances are the O2 sensors have been damaged from the vibs from the gun.

Thanks for the help guys...

Only 1 sensor was damaged and replaced with an NTK 02 sensor that was downstream. Impact gun wasn't used.

Do I need to buy both of the upstreams?

I'd have the wiring checked first with a voltmeter. The sensors may be fine and the wire extensions aren't working right. Check the service manual for details on what voltage you should be seeing.

That seems to be a common problem, actually.

I tried to open the service manual listed here but can't for some reason..

Can someone help me out as post what the volts should be or read for the primary 02 sensors?

Gonna go have the shop take a look at them tomorrow and hopefully it's just what Tony@F.I. Said that its more than likely their saudering/heat shrinking issue from the LTH install.
