I am just barely able to start my '09 now after each week of the car sitting idle and starting it up on the weekends. After reading the threads, I just ordered the Battery Tender Plus which should help. Not sure if it is too late to salvage the OEM battery..we'll see.

Question to the group, when and if the battery is removed and replaced, what will need to be reset beside the Windows?

No need to remove the wiper arms. Just pull the blades/arms away from the windshield to make a little extra room.

It may help to check some of the SLU fuse removal DIYs - the IPDM-E/R, where the fuse is located, is right next to the battery. You have to remove the same parts to get to the SLU fuse and the battery.

You will have to reset your radio presets and the windows when you get done. Procedures are on this site.

I just wanted to post a reply to this thread, I found it extremely helpful.
For those looking to swap the battery out you only need to remove on the diagram:

-#3 the battery cover
-#5
-#1

once you pull the old battery and swap it out, just put it all back together. On my 2010, i also had to pull the rubber weather strip up to get number 1 out. there are 4 little pins that you must pull up (they go back in easily). However this may differ for other models.. Once installed, simply follow the window guide to reset the auto window feature. I left my windows closed during the entire process, than followed the guide for resetting the auto windows and was done quickly.

Default Battery Replacement 2009 Z

Fairly easy job on the 09 (wiper arms do not need to be removed), but 2 plastic dress pieces do need to come out (held in with ~6 plastic clips - easily removed & can be reused).
Bought Interstate battery at local Costco for a great price (~$70 bucks) - correct replacement size (35) and about 60 more CCA (640 CCA versus 580 original battery)....
Only issue was windows needing to be reset (to properly reseat when closing doors) following battery change. Very easy reset - 5-minute procedure on this site)...

Pretty simple job by following instructions posted in this thread. I notice that the Nissan 370Z service manual states: "Always replace EPT sealers with a new one if the cowl top cover is reused". I assume this is the grey, round "rubbery" looking thing? Has anyone replaced this or just put the cowl back on with the old one still in place? Any issues with reusing the old one? Water leaks? I can't find EPT sealer listed on any Nissan parts website. Any ideas where to get now ones? Thanks.

I've pulled mine several times and never replaced any of it. Haven't noticed any problems but I'm interested to see what others' experience is.

What the heck are ept sealers? I've had those plastic covers off and in several times and the biggest risk is losing one of the plastic speed clips lol

I ordered a 100 pack of those off eBay last summer/fall and they never did shop up, because it was under $20 eBay wouldn't do anything about it. Figured they would be handy, but never got to experience that so now I have to be careful with each and every one lol

I re-use mine as well,,,occasionally one will break...& i'm thinking there is one near the front left (around core support/headlamp) that uses a short or cut down version.

I get plastic rivets from my favorite body shop. I pay a little more than what you can get them for on eBay but the shop is just 3-4 miles from the house.

EPT is a semi-closed cell foam, so I'm guessing it's the hood seal at the bottom of the windshield.
