That "extra" oil->water cooler is standard on the newer ones in the US, but wasn't present on the older year models here. Apparently it's been standard since the beginning in the middle east due to climate, might be true in Australia as well?
You have two basic options: 1) You can stack the new sandwich plate on top of the old and use both cooling systems. You'd have to be sure that everything mates up correctly to not leak, and there's a bit of a risk that this isn't an ideal setup, as the stack of sandwich plates might not be very secure. I haven't seen it myself, it'd be up to your judgement. The upside is if you ever have cold days where you'd need to use a blockoff plate on your Z1 cooler, the factory water cooler would probably raise and stabilize the temps and make it less likely you need a blockoff... 2) Remove the factory oil->water cooler, as you've already done in those pics, and leave it off. It's far less effective than your unit from Z1, so you probably don't technically need it for actual cooling at this point. You'll need to block off wherever those coolant hoses are coming from obviously... |
