JUN High Lift Exhaust Camshafts has be released

The flow limit is actually the OEM inlet manifold. Without replacing the manifold, we are air-limited to around 420hp.

I have some VQ30 heads (primarily because the CR with these heads is 12.05:1 with std pistons) and 33mm dia inlets and these flow 288cfm @ 12.7mm lift on our flow-bench. According to my rough rule-of-thumb, this equates to circa 445hp and that assumes that the inlet manifold constraints have been resolved.

If we can get to 15mm of lift, we get 300cfm, which gets us to 460hp, but getting beyond 460 without going larger in valve diameter seems impossible (and 600 thou life is a stretch as we need bigger valve pockes in the pistons, and that drops the CR so I'm beginning to believe that half-inch lift is about it - and that means ~440/450 hp.

Getting to 500hp will require head-work - a lot of expensive flow-bench time, together with a bespoke inlet manifold (and 52mm throttle bodies such on manifold). I've already had some aluminium plates machined up to suit my heads and making a manifold out of 51mm tube is relatively simple, but still lots of work and research to go ... with the objective of getting to ~325 cfm which will go very close to supporting 500hp.

This will be a balls-out race engine and not for a road-able car ... for that, it will be 1/10th the cost by going s/c or tt.

RJN Motorsports in the UK claim 440hp out of their GT4 370Z race car .... with replacement induction system, cams, ECU and headwork (to remove VVEL).
They have no said so, but I suspect they are using GT300 series NISMO heads and NISMO cams. My research tells me this wil deliver ~440hp @ flywheel but not much more.

Wouldnt Replacement induction system mean turbo or supercharger? I am confused.

Nope - when I say replacement induction I refer to the inlet manifold, throttle bodies and re-sized inlet valve-size (increased by 2mm).

Adding s/c or TT means "forced induction" to me - I apprecaite it could be a tad confusing, that could be because I'm a dinosaur (too old!!).

GTM list a VQ37 engine with heads that flow 330cfm which will deliver ~500hp at the crank - all I have been able to do with VQ series heads (not the VVEL heads though, but earlier variable valve timing from JDM VQ30-series engine as the combustion chamber shape gives 13:1 CR with std VQ37 pistons) is 280cfm which matches the RJN Motorsports claimed power.

Unless they're just referring to intake and plenum, and if it's crank power it's not entirely far fetched.

Fast road cams with a duration of 265 degrees should be great for our Z's.
With that being said we would hav eto upgrade the fuelling, injectors and fuel pump.
And a tune asap.
Install is not hard if you know what you're doing and have the right tools.
I plan to do these as well before any thoughts of F.I.
