Even Car and Driver had the "Factory" Nissan Motorsports cooler fittings fail... And this installed for the press cars!

They said yes. I will use a credit card to pay with, and if I do not get it in writing after it is installed I will simply contest the payment and use their voice mail recording as proof. In writing or it's free.

Again, good luck on that. You may have high expectations as to what "Warranty" will cover and what a dealer will actually put in writing. According to Nissan, your overall warranty is not void with this install, but the part itself is not warrantied. If it fails and takes out an engine, I doubt Nissan will consider that a warranted item. Their position on this is: (Emphasis on the last paragraph)

The installation of the Nissan Motorsports oil cooler does not, by itself, “void” the vehicle warranty. However any damage caused by the installation or use of this part is expressly excluded under the terms of the Nissan New Vehicle Limited warranty.

Keep in mind guys that ANY and ALL mods are ammunition for the Dealerships and Nissan to give us Warranty roadblocks. I have owned vehicles that were bone stock and the Dealership tried to weasel their way outta doing any Warranty work!!!

Don't waste your time complaining to Nissan and expecting a free solution. We all went through this last summer. I even have the number for the Nissan support rep for my area...not the most compassionate or helpful person.

If you're seeing high oil temps (over 230), just invest in a cooler. You can build your own and install it yourself for $300 or you can go the other extreme and have Nissan install the Nissan Motorsports cooler kit for $1300. Just realize that you have no warranty if the cooler malfunctions in any scenario (ie, there is no real benefit to having Nissan install it if you're capable of doing it alone).

Quality components are crucial on something like a oil cooler kit. Failure = possible engine failure..

Which is why we use top quality components in our kits, SETRAB cores, Goodridge lines built to our specs, etc. And never had an issue.

The Nissan Motorsports Oil Cooler is not a warranty-covered item, it's clearly stated in all of its literature.

We have a great relationship with Nissan and Infiniti dealers, and quite a few of them have installed our oil coolers on cars as well.

Have a few quick questions for you, as I will be ordering, tomorrow or the following day, your oil cooler kit. I'll be having my Nissan dealer do the install.
Race Version - 25 Row Core.
1. What is the book time on the install?
2. What is your warranty on this kit?
3. With the parts included in this kit, would it be possible to install it on the driver’s side instead of the passenger’s side?
4. Would it be possible to get updated instruction for the Race Version - 25 Row Core , oil cooler , install on your web site?

Last month I had the $1300 setrab oil cooler set up installed by Cherry Hill Nissan of NJ. I took my Z to the track for the first time this past October (before the oil cooler). Air temperature was in the low 70s then, and the oil temp went about 260 for my last two 20 minute runs at NJ Motorsports Park - Lightning course. No limp mode, thank goodness, and was able to drive home fine. It was nerve racking thinking the car was going to shut down at any moment. There was no way the car would make it back to the track without an oil cooler.

I took it to the track recently for 2 days with air temperature in the mid 80s. This time on the Thunderbolt at NJ Motorsports Park. Oil temp highs were around 200, maybe 210. Normal and spirited driving keeps it at 180. Long story short, this was the best first mod for me to do. I am pleased with it so far. The only thing remotely negative is that the outside air temp reads incorrectly high. Perhaps that thermometer is obstructed by the cooler. It isn't a big deal to me though.

1. I'd have to check with my service manager on our quoted install time. I want to say 2 hours, but I'd have to verify.

2. We base the warranty off of the individual parts, I'd have to double check the SETRAB warranty on the core, as well as the Goodridge lines, but I can get that tomorrow (Sunday night)

3. It is absolutely possible to install it on the drivers side, we do it on the passenger in the instructions to accommodate all of the possible coolers, oil, trans and our power steering cooler.

4. Updated instructions? Not sure I understand.. unless it's missing, I'll look into that.

I’m kinder hoping it's 2hrs, from my dealership. I recently ordered your wonderful G3 intakes from Max @ Stillen, I was lucky enough to get an early install date for the 18th at the dealership. It occurred to me that if I could get the oil cooler install at the same time, I could possibly save a little on the install since the front fascia would be off for the G3 intake installation .

I will be calling Max this morning , see if he can get me the Race Version - 25 Row Core kit, to me in Eastern PA before the 18th ?

I just spoke with the dealership which is now installing my new short block with a Nissan oil cooler Part Number: 21300-SS370. What is the install time on the oil cooler? The dealership just said that it is 8 hours and the fenders need to come off. Remember they already have the whole engine torn apart anyway. This seems so excessive. I was quoted 4 hours before the short block had to be replaced.

We charge 2hrs labor.. no reason a dealership or anyone would quote higher than that.. there's nothing special about the Nissan oil cooler, outside of it's high cost. It's also not a warrantied item under the factory warranty, but a lot of dealers will treat the install with comfort in mind, just as they do with STILLEN products. Everything I've seen about the Nissan kit is a large SETRAB cooler and lines, seems like a quality kit, at a price premium.

If you mean they are telling you the side fenders literally need to be removed, that would be cause for concern. If they are working on replacing the engine, a lot will be removed already, but even if they didn't reduce the hourly time, 8 hours would literally be a tech working on installing just the oil cooler for the entire day.. you can do the math.
