I was playing with it the other day and found out that part of the weird clutch feel isn't just that the spring assist makes it feel more vague but that the spring assembly actually over centers so that when you push down you are fighting the spring until it passes center then it starts assisting you thats why the car feels like there are 2 engagement points some times because as you push the clutch down all of a sudden it gets easier to push.

Just removed the spring and the bottom pin and wow it feels like a normal clutch. I don't like the floppy feel of the clutch though but I already have the softer spring to replace it

One side of the pin has a lip just put a flathead to the lip and hammer it out and once it's out enough just keep pulling on it

I didn't push the clutch in I just hammered it the most I could and then pushed the clutch in and wiggled the pin out

G'z. You guys are going to butcher and destroy the bracket/clevis that way!

You're supposed to unload the spring by depressing the pedal. The pin slide right out with minimal effort.

Maybe a good idea to pull the pin once a year and apply some white lithium grease?

I think enough people have given this a thumbs up but what's one more. After picking up a Z a couple days ago, introduction on the forum and further details forthcoming, I thought at first the clutch was just stiff and the car was just new to me so was just rusty and I'd get used to it. Well after 12+hrs of continuos driving it still felt numb and the engagement point mysterious. I thought I had lost my mojo despite driving a stick off and on for the last 18yrs. Decided to look it up and found this thread. Immediately removed the spring (was super easy) and went for a drive.

Night and day difference. The feel is there now. Easing on the throttle is much easier and predictable. Incline starts are also very much improved.

Considering ease of mod to measuable benefit, I'm not sure it gets better than this.

Thanks everyone. Looking forward to being part of the community here. Seems like a great group and theres not much that hasn't been covered.

I bought one for my 2011 Z but never installed it. My 2014 doesn't need it. I'd sell mine, PM me if interested and can't find it elsewhere.

It's a Century Spring P/N 72577

I got mine from JSolo. He has a thread on the G37 forums with buying info. Just PM for details if he hasn't found you first.

Great seller, fast shipping and worthwhile replacement. Very happy with mine. Feel more comfortable having something in there vs leaving it out.

I do recommend swapping vs full uninstall then reinstall. I had a period of time I had it fully off but it would have been much easier to just swap with the new. Then again, I wouldn't have known how bad I wanted to replace the stock one until I felt the diff of not having a helper.

Just saves pulling the top pin which is a pain to get in and out without the risk of dropping it behind the plastic paneling while also holding the clutch in.

I did this mod years ago on my '09. Got my '14 and was like WTF, this is crap, had to do it again. Great great mod that actually gives you tangible results.

Stuck, removed the c clip, but can't get the pin out. Tried pushing down on the clutch and removing the pin, but it came out half way and can't seem to get it out. Any help?
