Everyone with oil temp issues

^ Okay, so we should all do this once ever 12 months, whenever they release the next year's model!

In Massachusetts it is 12 months or 15000 miles. It's the same basic 3 strikes policy except you must give the manufacturer (not the dealer) one final repair attempt. In this case the final repair attempt would likely be an oil cooler as that would be considerably cheaper than the alternative.

What are you entering for vehicle type in that complaint website? They don't have a 370Z option.

a normal day of driving in stop and go traffic where i live I get no more than 220. If I take it to the mountains and throw it in manual mode and keep rpms up past 5k I will get to 260 range. When the car had less miles it would get to 280. It almost seems like the car is getting lower and lower temps. My mileage now is 2,000 miles. When it gets to 260 takes around 2 min to cool off. back to 230 or so. That being said, the temps still seem high. Wish they were lower.

Can someone with a stock car take it to the dealer and complain about high temps please? have them fix it.

I think someone did this already. From what I recall, the dealer looked it over, changed the oil and sent him away.

The 370Z officially goes on sale here in Australia from tomorrow (1st May). I must say this oil issue has caused me to hesitate on purchasing the car. I will keep reading this thread with much interest.

Australia will be the real test, it gets f'n hot and there are lots of roads on which to open it up. Unfortunately it is heading into Winter for most of the country but it will still but hot and dry up north.

Taking the suggestion from this thread I called Nissan customer affairs at 1.800.647.7261 this Tuesday. I talked with Jennifer Irwin, extension 41622, and voiced my concern about the high oil temperature issue. I also told her I was thinking about cancelling my 370Z order due in July because of the very hot summers we get in Texas. She open up file #6479687. I got a call back from her this morning. According to her supervisor, Nissan is aware of the problem and that their engineering is currently working on an oil cooler kit that is to be available in two to three weeks. Of course doubting this I asked if she was sure and she said that it was a fact and she had been authorized to tell me about the kit.

We shall see.....

I've heard that the Nismo kit is being ramped up for production but I am dubious about the 2-3 week time frame.

Did she say if this cooling unit would be installed under warranty?
