Sticky: (Official) 370Z Clutch Pressure (CSC) Failures

Finally got a purchase survey and made sure to note this issue there, as well.

I understand this might not make too much mechanical sense, but I was just curious to know how many of you had the csc failure with the RJM clutch pedal?

thats a good question, im not really sure, but I would say this, An aftermarket pedal and the actual csc are two entirely different components, that pedal wont save that poorly made csc.

This thread has a lot of info on the RJM pedal: RJM Clutch Pedal System for 370Z - Fully Customizable Clutch Feel & Stroke

The RJM pedal does put less strain on the CSC than the OEM pedal. Ryan explains it in more detail in Post #176 here: RJM Clutch Pedal System for 370Z - Fully Customizable Clutch Feel & Stroke

My clutch just went out for the fourth time. The first three times they replaced the slave, the master, and the clutchline in that order. Now they said its the clutch itself and are replacing the cluthplate, pressure plate, and the flywheel.

Tell them to replace the CSC with a Zspeed one and a new OEM CMC. Problem solved.

How did you get them to replace these parts each time? Did you pay?

Mahalo JAR! I hope Ryan's correct as I've had his clutch pedal in my car for nearly the life of my car. However anyone who has had an RJM clutch pedal and csc went bad, please feel free to chime in.

I can tell you from experience that it is pretty $hitty working under the dash like that. So make sure you review the details of the install thoroughly before you even begin. I took breaks every 10-15 min I spent under the dash. Basically, I would do a few steps under the dash, and then a few steps at the work bench.

There are two things you can do to make working conditions a little easier and more comfortable. First is remove the driver side seat - I think it's only like four bolts although I didn't bother to do this. The second thing is to find something level with the door sill that you can lay on top of. I set a 2-drawer wooden filing cabinet on its side and covered it with a blanket so I could shove it up next to the car. You can use a pillow or two for extra comfort if you wish.
