I know this isn't a "Panacea" for clutch failure but I keep my fluid clean. The moment I notice it getting dirty, out it goes (from reservoir) and in goes new. Pump a few times, check it again, and if still dirty more out then more in. Don't have to change fluid often, maybe once a month (DD) but I feel better keeping the clutch dust out of the system as much as possible. Of course, where it gets in (around the O-Ring on the CSC sleeve) is impossible to prevent.
A funny thing I've noticed is that the black stuff "floats" to the top of the reservoir when I put clean fluid in. It looks like smoke rising from the outlet of the reservoir when the clean fluid is transparent, it's really easy to see. Last edited by Fountainhead; 03-13-2014 at 10:23 PM. |
