Sticky: (Official) 370Z Clutch Pressure (CSC) Failures

I love the ACT HDSS kit with their Streetlite FW. I used them on my Evo IX and it held up great with Auto-X.

I just got my Z back from AAM Competition yesterday. Took off from work today to drive around & "break it in". I'm very pleased with it. Pedal is a little stiffer than OEM clutch but still easy to drive in city stop-n-go traffic.

It was towed to AAM on Tuesday 7/7/2015. We arrived at 10:00am. Markus called me Wednesday 7/8/2015 at 4:45pm, "Joe your Z is ready!". Awesome! You may find cheaper places to go installation, but no way will you match the turn around & quality work of AAM Competition. Plus MAZOC Discounts on labor. Do you have MAZOC card? If so, bring it. Work Order - Install ACT HDSS Clutch Kit(Clutch plate/Pressure Plate, pilot bearing), Install ACT Streetlite Flywheel, Flush Trans & put in MOTUL Gear Oil, install HD CSC, install CMC, install insulated clutchline, flush clutch hydraulics & put in GTR Fluid.

And from my small sample experience, dark or dirty fluid doesn't mean it is going either. Mine was really dark, but the removed CSC (non failure removal) looked in good shape. So I guess a drop in fluid in the reservoir and the loss of clutch are the only real indicators.

UPDATE:

Guys, I just wanted to say that my dealer took care of me. I know this doesn't help you out but ever since I got on the Nissan USA Facebook page, the consumer affairs people handled the rest. They asked me to go to the dealer and have it diagnosed. I did. They replaced the clutch fluid with GT-R spec dot 4 fluid. It made things worse. My clutch pedal didn't return at all. They called me with this news and that they were taking care of it as a "good will" gesture. I was surprised and elated to hear the good news. After about 3 days of driving a rental car (Versa), they finished and I'm back in my ride with a big smile on my face. The car feels better than it has ever felt. The pedal seems stiffer than before but nothing too bad. I like the resistance now. All in all, not a bad experience. I paid $200 for a diagnostic, and even that is being reimbursed by consumer affairs.

They put GT-R clutch oil along with a new master and slave cylinder. I know it's another OEM CSC but I don't really care since it's covered for another year under warranty and my dealer doesn't install aftermarket parts.

Good luck everyone.

I guess that works out if you decide to sell it in a year... Mine was replaced with an OEM through warranty and I'm expecting it to fail again in another 20k-30k miles or about 2 years.

It's replacing a poorly designed part with the exact same part

You're absolutely right. Some of you guys have less miles than me and the dealer won't budge. I've always had good luck with this dealer and would get all of my warranty work done there. I never used them for oil changes or other maintenance work though so I'm definitely not a "VIP" customer. I guess it's hit or miss with dealers.
