If under load and you throttle off, the injectors cut the fuel, which is called deceleration enleanment. If you wanted to keep the revs up and are able to add some fueling on decel (you probably can with Osirus or similar) you can maintain higher revs off throttle, but at the cost of poorer fuel economy.
There's generally some sort of dashpot function in the ECU that tracks changes in RPM and load to restart fueling for a soft landing to idle ![]() I notice on the 7AT, the ECU will also adjust fueling and throttle to revmatch and downshift on coast down as you approach idle. Feels a bit herky-jerky to me sometimes (kind of wish it would just hold the gear)...
