However, if I'd got something like the Mustang (which I was cross shopping) I would've got AT in it. Its a matter of the character of the car itself. American muscle, it should be AT. Japanese sports car, give me MT.

:iagree:

FPenvy 09-29-2015 03:34 PM

the Z has hill assist......

it's called aggressive first gear and AT tranny lol

bitch can hold itself still on a wall.

D.Stillwell 10-02-2015 06:08 PM

Eh. AT tranny, no thanks.

Lol why you say that?

I dont think I'm any slower than the autos. :tiphat:

Especially not in the twisties, which is where the manual really shines.

Jar.......it's about the Z having hill assist.

the thread was dead before it started. i'm doing the humane thing and putting a bullet in it.

JARblue 10-05-2015 08:16 AM

:icon18:

Fair enough ... crap in his thread all you want :roflpuke2:

But go bump the official thread if you want to do the MT vs AT thing

done.

let it begin lol

D.Stillwell 10-05-2015 08:23 AM

The manual is faster and way more fun.

If the 7AT was a dual clutch not a torque converter slushbox...things would be different.

Ok, crapping in thread complete. :roflpuke2:

Also, 6MT is for real men, 7AT is for....

Lol I digress

you thinking the AT in the Z is bad shows you know not a damn thing about it.

ugh it's so sad seeing the lack of intelligence in this new wave of owners :shakes head:

D.Stillwell 10-05-2015 08:31 AM

Wrong....I never said it was bad lol :shakes head:

I drove a g37s with the 7at extensively, I know exactly what it feels like (both in sedan and coupe)...

Its not bad, just not as good as 6mt. And if you're like me, auto in a sports car is no fun.

This is just IMO anyway, no need to attack my intelligence. I'm no newb in general, even tho I do t know the Z that well yet.

Funny thing is, is that's FP in the photo, gripping that gear lever tightly.

Seriously though, get some new jeans, those are all torn.

The best method for dealing with FP is to ignore everything he says.

:icon14: One may not agree with him on the MT vs AT "debate" but ignoring his many helpful comments wouldn't be the best tactic to employ. YMMV

nope. PA boy.

my friend used to work there when I was in need of a tune and set it all up for me.

I have family in that area so it worked out for a tune and visit all in a weekend.

MAZOC - Nissan 370Z Forum

shotgungho 10-05-2015 12:33 PM

Thanks for the MAZOC links, def will check it out :tiphat:

aside from some of the favorable FL track conditions and 1/4 ET's popping up lately I was at #5 (now#8) with full weight, full tank, stock suspension, stock alignment, etc..

I like challenges lol I trust the car and spent a lot of time in it so confidence just comes.

plus i'm a cocky asshole from childhood so it happens lol :tiphat:

but seriously though I've been thinking of grabbing drag radials, dropping weight, low fuel, and more favorable conditions and jump back up to the top 5 on that list.

isn't texas hot but not humid?.....

could make for a better time. decent air but track surface still has some temp for tackiness.
