and the last comment, not sure if you are referring to me, but the 370Z is my first auto tranny, and have been driving manual ever since i got my license. |
Quote:
I was not referring to you at all, but I definitely should have made some jab at you for driving an AT since this is the MT vs AT thread :stirthepot: :icon17: I was referring to the crappy automatic transmission shifting like someone who doesn't know how to drive a MT :eekdance: |
Quote:
though i miss rowing through the gears, surprisingly, no regrets on going auto and the auto on the 370Z is not bad, and the paddle shifters do add a nice touch. |
great read!
|
So do guys with 7A use the paddle Shift so that they don't sound stupid with an aftermarket exhaust :bowrofl::roflpuke2:

all that matters is that the 7AT is faster :)

how does the paddle shifting and aftermarket exhaust matter here? you seem rusty with your jokes. time to revive the thread I guess lol |

I just a think he's make fun of you AT pansies:stirthepot: |

just in case you 6mt homos forgot :stirthepot: |

An AT will always hold the drag record regardless of car. I don't give two ***** about 1/4. I don't buy cars for off the line. I like the twisties. All that being said I'm much more impressed by Phunk's qrt mile times than the time FI put up with an AT. At least Phunk was really doing all the work not just slapping a stick. But I would expect no less from a child of the entitlement generation. Always wanting things done for you:stirthepot: |
Quote:
come to the dragon and we can play on the twisties. AT still rules there as well. :stirthepot: |
funny thing is that when you go to you tube and see a video of a someone test driving a car they state"...but unfortunately we were given an AT to test dive"...:driving:...wonder why would they say that :icon18:
|
Quote:
ever watch a GT-R video and hear a tester complain? nah lol |
mags only say that because the m6 is more engaging to drive, i dont miss my m6 370 one bit, this auto is allot more fun to me...and that is subjective. Cant argue a subjective thing. But the facts are clear 7AT is faster, at ANY speed..drag, low roll, high roll...anywhere...its just the faster car :)
|
The only reason the AT is better imo is because traffic on 635 in dallas texas is worse than a bag of dicks. A clutch in 1hr-2hr traffic daily is suicide.

Since I am now just entering the autox world where rumor has it there is typically only one shift anyway, 1st to 2nd, it really doesn't matter. Now it's all about hp and ft lbs ... oh ... yea :driving: ... it's about :driving: as well. I'm just happy to have the Z and be able to have fun with it. |

Kind of takes away the nice once you hear it automatically shift:roflpuke2: |

the 7AT is superior but the diehards will never admit it. that's fine too I mean back your beliefs I get it plus it gives me something to do all day lol as for autox I've seen some say the 7AT cant beat a 6MT whatever. I guess they forget the 7AT has more aggressive gearing down low where we can shoot out of turns faster, shift faster (fro that 1 shift here and there), as well as always having 2 hands on the wheel for the back to back to back tight turns that come with autox. I know the MT boys don't like facts but if you think that they can argue those few points I now realize they didn't buy MT's to be more engaged.......its because they're idiots :bowrofl: |
Quote:
the fact that there's no long pause between loud and loud because you MT boys suck at rowing gears doesn't change the fact of what is happening. man, this may be your most asinine comment thus far or just a super poor troll attempt. you MT boys really need to shake off the rust and come back tomorrow to try again. :shakes head: |

lol silly new guy |

I think the real argument should be based on what you do more and if you enjoy rowing your own gears or would rather just have a cheeseburger in one hand :yum: |

anyways.....the MT is a dinosaur of a tranny and the new AT's and DCT's of today's supercars/sports cars is the way to go. I mean if they weren't superior then why is the MT barely even an option in supercars? yes rowing gears and messing about is fun but not for long. :tiphat: |
the new autos of today are just as fun as the m6 couterparts. The PDK is seamless in acceleration! its perfection. I got the chance to drive one last week...poetry in motion...the manual was fun too but everyone recognizes autos is THE way. Competitve motorsports is a numbers game and auto delivers above manual. Simple as that...fun is subjective...ive had an m6 370...the auto to me is allot more fun

drove one 7AT and bought one the following week. :tiphat: |

after driving the 7AT i was sold also, not to mention (again) they are the fastest too :stirthepot: |
Luciano has been in here for about 10 min now trying to attempt a comeback......:stirthepot:
i'm waiting :nutswinger: |

sorry that facts and figures that prove my side wins equates to a "piss poor response" in the eyes of the MT faithful. :shakes head: so sad. come harder than that son :yum: |

A DCT though. Sounds amazing. And those perfect shifts with that pop and fireball.  |
I have to admit, the M6 in the 370z makes me feel like I have no idea what I am doing...that clutch engagement point *smh* - the RJM clutch pedal does make it easier but even after driving it for over a month+, it still makes me feel like a noob!
I drove my buddy's Camaro ZL1 and even though he has a twin disc clutch, shifting was SUPER smooth! Still, wouldn't trade in my MT for a slushbox :P I'll take a DCT, though! |
Quote:
if you have I highly doubt you'd call it a "slush box". it's far from it and its actually one of (if not) the best AT (non-dct) I've ever driven. |

Also, there's only a pause between gears when driving/shifting casually in the city. You won't find any pause in my shifting when I'm pushing her :driving: Oh how I love this thread :rofl2: |
