It's relevant because the retarded 7AT changing gears makes nice sounding aftermarket exhausts sound crappy. It is a special skill of the 7AT only :ugh2:

Also, there's only a pause between gears when driving/shifting casually in the city. You won't find any pause in my shifting when I'm pushing her :driving:

Oh how I love this thread :rofl2:

haha you love it when I get logical :yum:

and do I need to post videos that show my AT sounding just magnificent eith an aftermarket exhaust? you know I enjoy doing that lol

never driven an IS-F but people who I know that have said it was pretty decent

oh baby :nutswinger:

Get a video with your exhaust in traffic with the shifter in D (no manual mode or paddle shifters) and post it up. I want to see how it sounds with the "fast" AT computer controlling the shifts :icon17:

I don't know what this "D" mode that you speak of is therefore it does not exist.

I used to have a 335i before and I know with my exhaust, I would always be using the paddles...

So if you drive the 7A like a manual.... Is it still considered driving an automatic:stirthepot:

I don't give a **** about facts and figures. We are talking about smack talk and you are not holding up your side. Should we hand them to you on a golden platter so you don't have to work for it? Isn't that what your generation expects anyway:stirthepot:

soooo this city has super limited parking and most of it is street parking in the downtown area. parking garages as well but in the areas where theres houses it's primarily street parking only and no driveways either or rarely.

(hence why max Talbot's house went for 900k in the southside due to being nice and having a two car garage built into the house.)

so people put chairs out to save parking spots right in front of their house so they don't have to walk.

but the issue is when I go to places around there to eat the main streets typically 100% full so you go to side streets and people are lazy so if you park in front of their house they aren't typically happy.

I remember one day in my monte carlo (betweener vehicle don't judge me lol) I had the top piece of sandwich bread stuck to my windshield by the mayo on it. wasn't happy yet still got a chuckle.

the fact that there's no long pause between loud and loud because you MT boys suck at rowing gears doesn't change the fact of what is happening.

man, this may be your most asinine comment thus far or just a super poor troll attempt.

you MT boys really need to shake off the rust and come back tomorrow to try again.

HEK 06-13-2015 01:33 AM

This is just my humble opinion. I learned how to drive a stick way before most of you were born, a 4 speed 1967 Ford falcon on the floor, got my CDL license and drove a 21 gear truck so i learned how to drive and not just aim a car. The only vehicle I owned that was an auto was a 2010 FJ Cruiser that the wifey fell in love and the standards were not available in my area. Loved the truck but i found myself falling asleep on the way home just about every day because I felt I was just aiming the thing. So I went back to stick and now I'm driving again. I know wherever you live or whatever you choose is personal preference for you and your driving style, but I will never own another automatic. Wifey has 2014 Rogue fully loaded and works from home has 3k miles and I only drive it to fill up the tank, groceries with her or in 10 feet of snow. but as a daily driver maybe if my Z is getting some work done, so carry on maybe we can add some politics or religion to this tread to add fuel to the fire....:driving:

I saw a video of this chick actually doing that and found it hot, hopefully she didn't damage the gears as I couldn't tell if it was her or the gears grinding, google it I bet you will watch it :driving:...don't believe everything you hear

I love my 7AT but had the pleasure driving this 8AT today and it's a astutely amazing. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/06...35d113b8c0.jpg
If you drive that AT and don't fall in love something is wrong with you.

If you drive that with any transmission and don't fall in love something is wrong with you.

8at?!?!?

I <3 Powerglide. :)

sambar 09-01-2015 02:25 AM

For me its a question of what car I am driving. I love a good auto for daily driving and even long distance touring (and I use my AT car for that) but since this is a proper sports car for weekend fun, I went with the MT.

However, if I'd got something like the Mustang (which I was cross shopping) I would've got AT in it. Its a matter of the character of the car itself. American muscle, it should be AT. Japanese sports car, give me MT.

Tigger 09-01-2015 06:52 AM

I just want to piss off Presto.

DCT or otherwise, the GTR is an auto. Bitch. :p
