What situation? It's your car, so screw 'em. There's a whole thread dedicated to this with posts ranging from logical and subjective comments to good-spirited name-calling. In the end, drive what you want to drive. If you honestly don't like the AT for a legitimate reason, well then you've made a mistake and your next car should probably have a MT. If you enjoy the AT, like I do, what difference does it make what someone has to say. Again, it's your car.

my 09 was a six speed and then my 12 became and auto. I have no problem with driving either. I actually enjoy the auto a bit more I really like the paddles, you should get bothered or even care what others think. Just drive your car and have fun with it.

You should just be ignoring them. You bought the car, they didn't. I love my 7AT. One of the best transmissions ever. Move it into manual mode, down shift and watch it rev match and listen to the blip of the throttle, mmmm. I do wish I had the 6mt so I can boost the car but am I going to cry about it? nope.

I've been asked many times why I didn't get the 6mt. 7AT is more convenient for me. I drive a lot and it's mostly in New York City Traffic as well freeway traffic. I'd shoot myself if I had to clutch in and out every 5 seconds. When I want to "control" my shifts, I'll switch it to manual mode and have my fun. If I lived AWAY from city limits then I would have definitely gone with the 6mt. I'm going to be purchasing another car within a few months as a new daily driver (more like get to work and come back) and considering buying a manual tranny.

Don't let little crap like that bother you. Our car isn't a supercar however most supercars are now automatic with paddle shift. It's a quicker lap time!

I also heard the clutch swap on the 6mt can get pricey as **** too. Only thing I'd probably miss from a 6mt besides the obvious but when you strap an aftermarket exhaust and you get that pop when shifting.

I can still get that awesome burble when downshifting in manual mode though :D sounds sooooo goood

1. find balls and suck it up. :tiphat:
2. don't let little ricer kids/d bags give you hell about having the superior transmission.
3. tell them to race you and see why you chose the 7AT.
4. if someone talking shit take the fun out of the car for you then maybe cars aren't really for you.
5. All super cars are now standard with a paddle shifted auto transmission. the MT is DEAD
6. all else fails go with Falcon's way of handling things. I've used versions of that before. works well lol

I had these two kids come up to me once. One in a honda civic (ricer) the other in an acura rsx that looked pretty clean to be honest. The kid with the civic was like "what the hell, why automatic?". Gave him my reasons and made him feel dumb while the other dude in the rsx was like.. nah that's cool man even the gtr is automatic.

I bought a 6MT but I usually don't give a flying **** what people think about my car, much less my transmission LOL. You spent 40 on a car for YOU. YOU make payments on the car. Why the hell do you care what other people think? They're not gonna make your payments. Not to mention most modern day super cars come in automatic now. Just enjoy your car bro. My last 3 cats were automatic and I didn't give a **** what anyone thought

Haven't I seen a lot of post on the clutch not holding up well?

Tell that to my clutch which lasted over 80k with boost since 19k miles.
The problem is the CSC which Nissan found the cheapest supplier and then said cut cost by 50% & they will buy.

If I lived on the Blue Ridge parkway it would be a manual. If I lived in downtown Atlanta where you are in stop and go traffic all the time....automatic. My wife has sciatica and I need for her to be able to drive the z when I need rear seats....automatic.
